Never In A Million Years

Chapter Twelve

~Karabo's POV~

I paused, she wasn't wrong. I did say that, those were my words exactly. She even put them in quotation marks using her fingers. Her fingers are so adorable. Their all tiny and stuff.

Finally, I responded.

"I messed up, didn't I?"

She stared at me,

"Not exactly." She smirked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you did mess up, but if you apologize and allow me to want you, then I guess we can still be friends."

"Friends?"

"You clearly don't want anything more."

"What?"

"You heard me."

I blinked twice and got up. Going to my closet to bring out a shoe box. I kept this shoe box as a reminder of why I loved her so much and why she needed to be with someone who's never going to leave. After pulling it out, I handed it to her. 

She took it, with hesitation and looked up at me. I nodded and she opened it. In there, she found pictures of her and me together. She also found pictures of her smile and a picture that she too had. We were together, laughing, it was her birthday and I had just smashed her face with cake. She was now trying to smash mine, but failed and slipped. The photo was snapped just in time to see the happiness of everyone's face. 

Her eyes, starting tearing up. Her voice cracking, but it still sounded so amazing. 

"You k-kept all th-this stuff?"

"Of course. Their my happiness." I sat down next to her and gently touched her chin, bringing it closer to my face, before continuing, "Your my happiness." 

She blushed, I blushed. We both turned to hide it, until she smiled and looked back. She took my face and swiftly moved it to face hers. She wanted to see me blush, she wanted a source of entertainment. For sure, I wasn't gonna grant her that. So I fought back, till I stopped blushing and gave in to her battle. Even though, I was the one to surrender, she lost. Ha! That showed her. 

We were now staring endlessly into each other's eyes, and no one said a word. Breaking the silence she got up and said,

"Rest, Karay. You have a big day ahead of you. We both do." 

"But"

"But, nothing. We'll figure this out another time. Right now," she paused, and smirked. "You have a lot on your plate." 

Your kidding me. She just used my own words against me. That shallow, devil spawn. A very beautiful, and attractive devil spawn. I couldn't help but smile at the smartness she just showed.

She then continued, "A new girl, from your past showed up. That's a lot to handle. It's okay, really. Just rest. You have your big race tomorrow. I'm expecting great things."

With that, she left. Leaving me speechless and without words. I stared at her as she walked out of my room. She trotted down the hall, and into the kitchen. I shifted to go and stand by the door to watch her. She stayed in there, a while, then left holding a sandwich and headed off to her room. I turned my eyes, to look the other direction, towards the room that was now being used by the girl from my past. I sighed and went back into my room, closing the door behind me. 

I quickly showered and sneaked away into my bed. Not long after, my phone vibrated. It was a text, from non other than the gorgeous devil spawn herself. I love this girl. 
"Goodnighty, lover boy." I read it quietly trying not to blush when I read 'lover boy'. I responded.

"What happened to Karay? Goodnight, Ally. I love you." I didn't wanna deny her the satisfaction of knowing I loved her. She had to be reminded.

She responded within seconds. 

"I love you too, Karay. Sweet dreams."

"Sweet dreams." 

Was all I could say. She loved me too. Of course, I already knew that, but it was good to be reminded. This girl, would definitely be the death of me. The level of love I beared for her. Dammit, Karay, KARABO. Get yourself together. Although, I couldn't. I was getting nervous, just from getting a text that told me she loved me too. Oh gosh. 

Kill me. 

I sighed, and closed my eyes to think. Soon, I had found myself dreaming. And I allowed myself to drift off to sleep.
