Miley Palmer: Saturday 6th July:
I've been holding back out on a well deserved discussion with Adrian for 'no apparent reason' as Bambii puts it.
We were both on the couch infront of the TV and he was munching on some chocolate biscuits. I ended up leaning forwards as grabbing the remote and switching off the TV.
Even though I'd had a while to figure out and structure this conversation, I still didn't know what to say.
"Hey, I was watching that!" He moaned with a pout as he chewed on his biscuit.
"Let's talk..." I began with and he nodded, placing his phone and pack of biscuits down on the table before turning to me as he nodded.
"So..." He trailed off waiting for my sudden reasoning to talk to him.
"I want children." I blurted out and his face remained unclear. There was a silence before he rose an eyebrow. He leant forwards as pulled a biscuit out of the pack with a sigh.
He continued to eat, not taking his eyes off me. It's as if he were waiting for me to change my mind or confess that I was joking.
The only reason that I said that I wanted kids was to see his reaction to the topic. If he's anything like AJ, then he'll support me no matter what... Right?
"I don't think nows the time," He said and my face dropped.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"My career is only just kicking off, you and I have been having a rocky ass relationship, I've got another tour coming up so I wouldn't be able to care for you... Now's not the time." He stated and I opened my mouth but closed it quickly in confusion.
"Well, I think that's selfish... I mean, how would you feel if you're at home alone 24/7?" I asked.
"What? You put that on yourself... You're perfectly capable to work Miley." He said, picking out another biscuit and going to work on it.
"So we're back to pinning things on me? You're honestly so immature Adrian," I said with a scoff.
"How am I immature when I'm here finding logic in the situation? What sense does it make for us to bring a child into this world when we can't even deal with each other for two minutes? We ain't even responsible enough right now," He said.
"Responsible," I repeated with a sarcastic chuckle. "So, what you're trying to tell me is that because we aren't responsible, we don't have the right mindsets to handle a child?"
"And I bet 'responsibility' is the same reason why you still haven't proposed after 5 and a half years together Adrian, 5 and a half years!" I said.
"Since when did marriage come into this? And what if I just ain't ready for marriage? We're only 22 years old Miley, we should be worried about sorting out our near financial future instead of busying ourselves with marriage!" He said.
"You're not ready for marriage? 5 years Adrian... What more can I offer to you for you to be ready?"
"Why are you in such a rush to get tied down with a ring?" He asked.
"Why are you acting like this all of a sudden? We always used to talk about marriage Adrian."
"But you're not understanding. Marriage ain't just something that you go ahead and do... It takes time, money, effort--"
