April Alexis Alsina: Wednesday 24th July:

"Babe!" I called up the stairs.

"Yeah?" Devin called back.

"Have you seen my black folder?" I asked.

"Uhh, in the black drawer downstairs. I think I put it there, I can't remember." He shouted and I rolled my eyes.

Just as I was headed to the drawer, the doorbell rang repeatedly.

"Who the fucks ringing the bell like that?" Devin asked, jogging down the stairs as Lia rushed to the door.

"I'm getting it!" She ordered, pushing Devin back as she fixed her dyed hair before stepping towards the door.

She opened the door slightly and smiled at whoever was on the other side.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Don't worry y'all." She said, rolling her eyes and she spoke lightly to whoever was at the door. Only then did I notice how she was fully glammed up, make-up and all.

I walked ahead and opened the door fully and Devin stood behind me. A good looking light-skin boy stood behind the front door with pink flowers in one hand and Lia's hand in the other.

"Umm, who's this?" I asked.

"...Guys, this is my date. His name is Lucas... Lucas, this is April, my cousin and Devin my in-law." Lia said as Lucas nodded.

"Nice to meet y'all." He said and I returned the greeting.

"Your date?" Devin asked and Lia nodded slowly.

"How comes you didn't tell me." I said.

"I was going to, but it slipped my mind until now..." She said lightly.

"Well, where are you taking her?" Devin asked, slipping into his protective mode.

"To the movies and then out to eat--"

"Out to eat where?" Devin asked.

"At this french restaurant that my family owns up-town," He said and I nodded.

"Have her back by..." Devin looked at his wrist-watch briefly, "At Least 10:30."

"Yes sir," Lucas said with a grin as Lia chuckled slightly.

"So, I'll see y'all later." She said, stepping out of the house.

"Nice to meet y'all." Lucas said.

"Nice to meet you too." I said with a smile. Lia and I exchanged a smile before she shut the door.
