Sheila Alsina:
I placed the last dish onto the dryer and wiped my hands on the clothe with hung loosely under the sink. Sumaia ran wildly about the house as Louis chased her helplesslywhilst Kayden cheered Sumaia on, I chuckled at the two , feeling more complete than i ever really had.
"Breakfast is ready y'all, come sit and eat." I shouted, watching Louis finally engulf Sumaia before carrying her to the breakfast table. I took a seat and one end of the large seated table, whilst my daughter and husband occupied the others. Kayden took a seat beside Sumaia who she favored as her younger sister whilst Amayila trudged down the stairs from her bedroom, engulfed in her phone as she took a seat. I snatched Amayila's phone from her hand, placing it in the centre of the table as Chaylen followed in taking a seat at the table aswel.
"Ooh, it smells good," Sumaia sang, taking a deep whiff of her golden syrup oats and fruits whilst Louis tucked into his full English breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages and bread.
"Yeah, uncle Aug used to make the best breakfast but now I think Ma'Lee does instead." Kayden gushed, scooping her requested oats into her mouth as Amayila dished her some bacon.
"How was work then baby?" I asked, looking up at Louis who smiled lightly. He'd worked a night shift last night and we therefore hadn't exactly gotten the chance to speak.
"It was tiring as per usual, there was even a little conflict between a guy at the warehouse and a manager, got him fired on the spot. They've been firing people like crazy lately, no remorse whatsoever," He said.
"Yeah, work was good thanks for asking." Adrian strolled into the kitchen, taking a seat at the remaining seat at the table before forking some food onto a plate. Adrian had been spending quite some time at our house simply because I feared his self-neglect without Miley around. Plus, he'd just gotten off tour and no longer had anybody around his home, I knew how Adrian got when he's alone, as grown as he was.
"I swear you're something else Adrian." I mumbled, shaking my head.
"You need to find you a house sir." Amayila chuckled to Adrian who pushed her head playfully.
"What was up with you last night Dri?" Louis asked Adrian, who smushed food into his watering mouth.
"My baby mother." He said and we nodded. Last night he was wilding on the phone for ours on end, waking us up regularly with his obscene language, I guess that explained why.
"You know I--" I cut myself off hearing the doorbell ring. I frowned knowing that neither of us were expecting visitors. "I'll get it," Louis said, getting up and heading to the front door. Adrian playful ruffled Sumaia's hair, indulging in conversation with her whilst Louis' mumbling with whoever was at the door became audible.
Louis appeared at the dining room door, signalling for me to come. I got up warily, following him into the living room where 3 police men sat on the couches, their uniform hats in their hands and their faces holding sorrow.
"Ms Reed?" One of the officers asked, getting up and holding out his hand for me to shake, which I did. I knew this had to be about August, there was no other reason for our family to be involved with the authority, but why would they bring themselves to our home?
"I'm Officer Shard, this is Jonas and Halleyway," He said, pointing to his colleagues who took turns to shake my hand.
"Mhh, what brings you here officers?" I asked lightly, noticing Adrian appear into the living room, leaning on the door ledge as he watched us converse.
