Skylox

“Ty stop.” Sky giggled. Ty made a face, blowing out his cheeks and looking in opposite directions. Sky laughed again, rolling onto his back. Ty moved over to sit beside him, and leaned over the budder king.

“You remember when we first met?” He murmured, lightly kissing Sky.

“Uh huh.” Sky chuckled, stealing a second kiss. Ty smiled, and pulled Sky onto his lap, the boy in question lost in thought. Ty began combing his finger through Sky’s hair, playing with the dark curls. His mind began to wander as well. It was almost their three year anniversary. And Ty had to think of something soon.

“Ty?”

“Hmm?” A smile played on Ty’s lips at the sound of Sky’s voice.

“I love you, remember that okay?” Ty leaned down, and kissed Sky’s nose.

“Of course, I love you too.” In the future, Ty looked back, and wished he had said more.

“Tyler Collins?” Ty felt his stomach plummet.

“Yes?”

“Your boyfriend was involved in a serious accident. He did not make it.” Ty’s vision tunneled. He dropped his phone, and stumbled back. Sky, gone. No. It wasn’t going to happen. He leaned against the wall, and slid down it, tears escaping his eyes. He put his head on his arms, and cried his heart out.

Present Day

“Ty?” A voice, the creak of the door, and a bright light. Ty looked up, and noticed Jason and Ian in the door way. He cracked a small smile. Ian dropped a copy of the latest COD, and sat in the seat beside Ty’s bed. The young man had been diagnosed with deadly side effect of the drugs he had tried when he was younger. Ty had become thin, not only because of the disease, but because of Adam’s death. It had been a year since the tragic accident that claimed his love’s life, and Ty had immediately turned to cutting. One day he cut too deep, and at his visit to the hospital to patch him up, they found he had the problem . Since then he had been stuck in the hospital, with what doctors predicted, only a year or two to live. Ty didn’t care up to that point, his life was empty without Adam. The doctors, nurses and even his friends had tried to make the rest of his life in the hopsital better. Ty was moved to his own private room, which was equipped with a PS4, a Xbox, a high working laptop and things more to his comfort.

“How ya doin’ buddy?” Jason asked, clapping Ty on the shoulder. Ty gave him a glare.

“Fine.” Jason sat down in the office chair beside the bed, and pulled out his phone, probably to text his newest girlfriend.

“You don’t look so good.” Ian declared. Ty rolled his eyes.

“Yes, I look fine for a guy who lost his boyfriend, and found out he had a disease that would eventually kill him, so yes I look okay.” Jason snorted, not even looking up from his screen.

“Still hasn’t lost his spunk.” Ty flipped Jason off casually, and leaned back in his bed.

“Ty, you know what day it is.” Oh why did he have to bring it up? Ty clenched his eyes shut.

“Yes I know what day it is.” Jason shut his phone off.

“The doctors said it would be okay for us to bring you to the cemetery.” Ty had never been to Sky’s grave. They had discovered the disease the day before the funeral, and Ty could say nothing to dissuade them from keeping him. Ty nodded. Jason stood and left, returning with a wheel chair. Both men helped Ty into the wheelchair, for months of not using his muscles, had rendered the retired youtuber almost immobile, except for his arms and feet. Ian clipped the oxygen tank and IV drip to the chair, and Ty was wheeled out of his prison. The guys were borrowing a van from the hospital to transport Ty, for Ian’s small Prius wasn’t handicapped accessible. Ty stared out the window as they drove. His small town hadn’t changed much. In fact, it was an exact replica of the day he had driven to the hospital, blood all over his arm and the steering wheel. Jason parked the van, and then wheeled Ty out. He gazed about the sullen two acres of land. Graves were in an orderly fashion, sitting in rows. Ian pushed him along the rows, until he stopped at a single grave. The headstone was of a pale pinkish granite, with a small rose engraved on the top. Flower remains adorned the grave, and a small plastic ingot of dirty gold sat on top of the grave, looking weathered and sad. Ty put a hand on the grave, feeling a new wave of tears coming on.

“Can I be alone for a bit?” Ian nodded, and dragged Jason away, who made a choking sound before following.

“Hey, I’m sorry for not visiting.” Ty started, tears pouring down his face. An autumn wind blew, red and gold leaves swirling in the wind. He swallowed around the lump in his throat, and continued. “I got sick, and they wouldn’t let me come see you. A year gave me a lot of time to think. I do love you. I will never stop.” Tears were pouring down his cheeks, watering the small yellow wild flowers that had grown up. He slowly eased himself off the wheelchair and onto the ground. He ripped the IV out, and pulled the oxygen tubes out of his nose. His lungs tightened up, but he ignored it. Ty leaned against the gravestone, and sighed.

“I miss you sky. So much.” His eyelids felt heavy. “But I’ll see you soon.”

On November 1st, Tyler Collins died on his lover’s grave. He was buried beside Sky. Almost every youtuber he recorded with, or even talked to was at his funeral.

“Sky?!” Ty shouted. He felt healthy, no more pain. He stood in a great expanse. He spun around frantically. Suddenly there was a roar, and his vision was flooded with color. A man was walking towards him, casually strolling along. He looked up and his eyes met Ty’s.

“Ty?”

“SKY!” Ty flung himself at the man. Sky caught him, and pulled Ty close.

“I’m here, I’m here.”
