"I love your hair!" Mia and Katie complimented mine and Annie's hair. "Thanks!" we both said at the same time. We practiced floor, beam, and vault today. We were going to do bars, but we were behind schedule so we skipped it. We went straight into school.

After gym

I was at home and started reading another book, The Gift by James Patterson. It's a really good book so far even though it's has 100 CHAPTERS. Oh well.

I was sprawled on my bed when my phone buzzed.

Annie- SYDNEY'S GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT!!!!!

How?! I just stared at it in shock when Annie texted again,

Annie- ILL PICK YOU UP IN 5.

All I could do was shut off my phone and put my jacket on and wait for Annie. I explained everything to mom but she had to watch Sammy so I had to go by myself. Soon, the horn honked and ran inside the car. Mrs. Katie had a tear stained face, Annie was bawling her eyes out, and Hayley had tears streaming down her cheeks. "David, Caleb, not Syd and Luke!" Annie cried out. "Shh... it's gonna be okay," I told her, rubbing her back. "But what if... if it isn't?" she asked me, inbetween breaths. I still don't understand? How could this have happened so suddenly? We were at her house yesterday! At this time! What if everything wasn't okay?

"Sydney and Luke's parents?" the doctor called out. They got up. "Luke is okay, he got some cuts so we put stitches. But he does have a broken leg. Sydney has a very serious concussion so she won't remember you for about three or four days," the doctor told us. Annie stood there in shock. I did too. "But... she will remember. Promise," the doctor saw our faces. Sydney also had a broken arm. "She's alive!" Annie squealed but in a sad-excited way. "Yes!" I cheered with her. "Can we go inside?" I asked the doctor. "Not yet. Maybe tomorrow. She did have a surgery so she's asleep," the doctor explained and nodded. As long as Sydney is okay, we're okay. I saw Annie look into Luke's room. "Annie? Are you okay?" I asked her. It looked like she snapped out of her daze. "What? Oh yeah, I'm fine," she mumbled. I just shrugged and we went home.

I went home and brought out my new book. I started reading it when Sammy's friends came over. "Ugh," I groaned and went to sit outside. Peace and quiet, I thought.
