Every morning I wake up at see this picture. It was when me and Emily were in second grade, at a fall festival at school. I weakly smile and got ready for the day.
I put on an owl t-shirt with a floral scarf, dark blue jeans, and I put my hair in a braid.
I went downstairs and saw Sammy eating berries with cereal. "Hi Stephy!" she smiled at me. "Hi," I replied. I don't like when people call me Stephy anymore, it reminds me of Emily. "Morning, Steph. Are you excited for your first Flair practice?" Mom asked me, reading the comic section of the newspaper. "Yeah," I replied and fake-smiled. "Good," she smiled back. I poured some milk in a bowl and then put in some Fruit Loops.
---
7:00"Come on, Steph! You don't wanna be late!" Mom called to me. "I'm coming!" I called back. I put on a purple tank top with black shorts. I fixed my hair in a messy, messy ponytail since mom was rushing me. I ran downstairs, almost tripping on the last step, and then ran out the front door. I got into the passenger seat and laid my bag on the bottom. I slumped in my seat. "Are you okay?" Mom asked me. "Yeah," I plastered on a fake smile and looked out the window. Raindrops streamed the window. It reminded me off Emily when we would jump in the water puddles when it was raining. It was more fun when it was raining hard.
Flashback - On a REALLY raining day
"Stephy, it's raining hard! Let's go!" Emily tug me towards the door, where our raincoats were hung. I grabbed my blue one and she grabbed her purple one. We ran outside and started jumping in them and splashing each other.
A tear went down but I quickly wiped it away. I sighed when Mom pulled up to the dance studio.

"Steph!" Annie yelled and hugged me. "Hey Annie," I laughed. Katie, Mia, and Hayley were behind her. "Hey Steph!" Katie and Mia waved and Hayley came running up to me. "Hi Hayley," I said. "Hi Steph! What's wrong?" she asked me. "Nothing," I mumbled then Ms. Carrie called us to class.
---
"You can do it!" they cheered. I haven't landed my roundoff back layout step out yet. I missed it twice. I went and did it, but I stumbled back a few steps and fell on my butt. "Ugh," I groaned in frustration. "It's okay, you'll get it another day. That's a wrap!" Mrs. Carrie told us and then we went home. Annie and Hayley went home with me because Annie wanted to sleepover and Hayley may as well sleepover with Sammy. We piled into the car and then we drove home. "How's was dance?" mom asked us. "Good!" Annie replied. "It was so much fun with Steph!" Hayley giggled. I just gave a tiny smile and continued to look out the window. The rest of the car ride was silent, except for Annie making musicallys with Hayley.
---
I walked into my room and plopped down on my bed, Annie following. "Who's this?" Annie asked, pointing to the picture on my nightstand. "Emily..." my voice trailed off. It's the picture from above. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know," Annie said. "It's fine," I said and looked up at the ceiling. "Steph, she's in a better place. With Caleb. And David," Annie told me. I sat up and looked at her. "I guess," I shrugged. I got up and looked at my playlist on my phone. I put on the song, Heaven is a Place on Earth. I looked at Annie which had a sad smile on her face. I rubbed her back and I started to sing the chorus. "Ooh baby, do you know what thats worth?" I sang. Annie looked at me with wet eyes and a little smile. "Ooh, Heaven is a place on earth." "They say in Heaven, love comes first," Annie sang. I smiled at her and she continued. "We'll make heaven a place on earth." "Ooh, Heaven is a place on earth," we sang together.(A/N: Annie and Steph's friendship is so adorable!!! I love them!!!)
