~Emily's Death~ {in Emily's POV}

I didn't want to leave. I never wanted to. But it was too much. The pain. The strike. 3 strikes, you're out.

I was texting Steph on Halloween. I was in my weird Halloween costume, a unicorn that you use your arms and legs. Weird, I know.

Anyways, I was in the middle of texting when I saw Juliann, the neighborhood bully. "Ugh, what do you want?" I mumbled. "I need you to stop getting on my nerves," he spatted. "I didn't do anything to you!" I yelled at him. "Taking that from a unicorn... huh. I think that's false," he rolled his eyes. I saw him look around and then he suddenly pushed me. "Juliann wha-" I before I was finished, a car hit me and then everything went black.

I still think Juliann is satisfied with himself. Sometimes I go back and see what he's doing. He haven't told a single soul about it. He keeps claiming that I was careless and I was texting while walking across the street. NOT TRUE! I'm so furious that I'm always with Steph. It hurts me to see her so down. I miss her so much.

You're probably wondering about the two other strikes... I'll come back and tell you later.

Steph's POV -

I couldn't believe it! How was I the cause of this? It's couldn't be. I ran up to my room and shut the door. I slammed my pillow in my face.
---
I went back to gym today and everyone crowded around me. "Give her some space, guys," Coach Mary laughed. I just looked blankly. "We're doing Trick Flicks Week 9 now!" Mary declared and we erupted in cheer. I, on the other hand, didn't do anything. I just played with the sequins on my leotard.
---
After gym

"Steph, can you see me in my office?" Coach Mary asked. I slightly nodded and saw the others watch me closely. "You're not yourself, lately," Coach Mary sighed. "I know. Family problems," I mumbled. Not exactly true... more like best friend problems. "I see. Well, I hope everything gets better. You can always talk to me or any of the other girls," Mary comforted. I gave a slight smile, a real one, and thanked her. I exited and then leaned against the wall outside of the gym. "Everything okay?" Amanda asked. I nodded. "Okay," she smiled and then went into her car. I never really talked to Amanda at all... maybe I should start.
---
"How was the first day back?" Mom asked me as I walked in with Sammy and Emily's mom. Emily's mom picked me up from gym. "Stressful," I sighed and dropped my gym bag at the doorstep. "It'll get better," mom reassured. "Hope so," I muttered under my breath and ran upstairs.

"Emmi, is it really my fault?" I asked up in thin air. I heard a tiny whisper but I couldn't make out the words. "Please Emmi! Louder!" I begged. It wasn't was all I heard. She sounded so close, yet so far away. "It wasn't? Tell me," I said. Nothing. But it was from Emmi. I can trust Emily. Then suddenly I heard another whisper. Juliann. Juliann? Then it hit me. He's the neighborhood bully! I'll never forget him...

I frantically ran downstairs yelling for mom, dad, and Mrs. Bennett. "What?" Mom asked in annoyance. "I know who did it!" I cried. "What?" Mrs. Bennett asked. "Juliann pushed Emily onto the street so she could get hit!" I yelled out. "Are you crazy?" Dad asked. "No I'm not. I'm being serious. Emily told me!" They didn't believe me. They thought I was crazy. But I wasn't.
