thirty-five

(dereks pov of the wedding)

i let my dad fix my tie as i looked at sleeping gavin. he was on the red couch, sleeping comfortably. i was in the dressing room with the boys, my parents and my cousin, louis

"did i say that gavin is the cutest baby i've ever seen?" louis spoke as he stared at gavin. i chuckled as the boys rolled their eyes.

"yes, a hundred times and i think your voice is turning gay-ish" john teased and looked at himself through his phone before snapping a picture in snapchat of his outfit.

"don't be rude john" my dad remarked as he glared at him, finishing my tie, "you look good, son" he said with accomplishment in his eyes causing me to smile.

"hey guys, it's time to go" jay spoke from the door as he entered the room after going out, checking if everything was ready.

i took one last long breath before nodding my head, "louis, when is the babysitter coming?"

"hey!" i heard a high pitched voice, which i'm guessing was the babysitters voice.

louis pointed at her and i nodded my head once more before moving out the door, the boys trailing behind me. we walked to the doors as the pastor opened them with a welcoming smile.

"good luck, son" he whispered in my ear before i walked to the stage. i turned my head to smile at him and continued to walk.

i noticed that everyone stood up when i entered and i felt like this was some kind of kingdom thing, but then i remembered that it's my own wedding with the girl i love.

i positioned in the middle of the stage, everyone sitting down after i stopped moving. the boys positioned themselves in their places. the pastor walked slowly to the stage, walking to his spot.

"are you ready, son?" my dad asked me. i looked up at him, shivers running through me as i thought that this moment was really happening.

"yes" i sighed before i spoke. my dad patted my shoulder and walked to the audience, sitting next to my mom.

they both had proud smiles on their lips as their eyes were filled with happiness. i smiled at them, really smiling with all my heart.

the doors opened causing my attention forward. everybody stood up and looked at the doors. i saw jovana in a wedding dress, walking in slowly with her dad. tears welled up in my eyes. to think how many bad things i did to her, causing her to be in pain and depression, i'm marrying her. i'm finally getting what i wanted for the first time i saw her, marry her. she's gonna share my last name, we're gonna share our last name.

i wiped my tears and noticing more tears coming out of my eyes. "don't be like this" i mumbled under my breath before wiping the tears once more.

jovana walked up the stairs slowly, not wanting to step on her dress. i smiled at her, she looked extremely beautiful. her dad walked over to me with a smile.

"if you ever decide to do what's not best, i'll cut your head" my eyes widened at what he just whispered.

i shook it off and stared at jovana with a smile. i couldn't even speak of how happy i was.

after his other not so important speech, it was time. "do you, derek james luh, wanna spend the rest of your life with jovana, share the same last name, promise your heart to her and marry her?" he questioned with his eyebrow raised.

i didn't hesitate longer so i answered what my heart told me to answer. "i do"

"do you, jovana gonzalez, wanna spend the rest of your life with derek, share the same last name, promise your heart to him and marry him?" jovana nodded with a happy sigh before saying something that i've been wanting to hear for a long long time.

"i do" my eyes lit up and a smile played on my lips.

"i now pronounce you husband and wife" i placed the ring in her finger as she placed the ring on my finger.

"now you may kiss the bride" he gave access so i leaned in and so did she.

our lips collided and moved in perfect synch, like it was the last day of our lives, but it wasn't. everybody clapped and cheered when we ended the kiss.

it was finally done, we are officially the luh's.
