Ringing

"Hello?" Dan's voice came through the phone.
"Hey," Phil responded.

This moment was something both of them had been waiting for, for a long time. It all started with a wrong number and some silly joking. It all came to this moment, then they heard each other for the first moment. They both remained silent for a moment.

"Your voice is so much lower than I thought it would be," Phil said, breaking the silence.
"Thanks, I guess?"
Phil laughed, and then said,
"Well at least you don't sound like a pervert."
"Thanks, mate. I have to get used to your voice, too. It's kinda higher pitched and somewhat adorable. Not like super high, but like..." he trailed off.
"A-adorable?" Phil stammered.
"W-well I mean..." Dan had not meant to say adorable. "Yeah, adorable,"
"So... what was so important that you wanted to talk voice-to-voice?"
Dan hesitated before stuttering,
"W-well..."

Anything in brackets [these] in this author's note is not crucial information. If you're a lazy reader, I suggest you don't read the stuff in brackets as its honestly just random shit :D

Whale then! I know I'm cruel for leaving you on a cliffhanger with an incredibly short chapter there, but that's what writers do. [It's a strategy that gets people interested in the event following the cliffhanger, but then they have to wait in anticipation to see what happens. By the time they find out what happens, they're so excited for it, much more excited than they would be if you had just shown them the result in the first place. Why did I just explain that? I'm a nerd, why else?]

Anyways, thank you for reading and enjoying the book prior to this one, and if you haven't read it, you must be desperately confused! So... you should go read that now....

I just wanted to let you know that these chapters take WAY longer to write than the ones in the previous book. Their word count was 100, these chapters will be closer to 1,000. So be mindful of the increased workload I will have, so don't get pissed when I don't update as often as you'd like me to. [Sorry, it takes a lot of work to write these chapters and come up with functioning ideas to make said chapters work. And unlike the last book, I don't have much of a plan for this one, I'm just gonna write it and see how it goes. I'm not much of a planner, but at least for the other one I had a set goal in mind: get Dan and Phil to the point where they called eachother.]

And I'm rambling (in an author's note...). Sorry for that! Thanks again for reading this, and please enjoy the rest of the book!
