Disneyland part 1

On Wednesday morning Alyssa woke up to the feeling that she was falling. She looked around and saw Josh. He was jumping up and down on her bed. Alyssa sat up and asked him, "What are you doing?"

"Waking you up!" Josh replied.

The clock by the bed said it was 7 a.m. Alyssa groaned and threw her head back into the pillow. Josh pulled the blanket off her and grabbed her feet. He began to pull her off the bed. "Noooooo," Alyssa finally sat up.

Tyler said, "We're doing something special today."

"What are we doing?" Alyssa wondered.

Jenna sat on the bed next to Alyssa and handed her a purple gift bag. Alyssa pulled out the wrapping paper and looked inside. She saw a sweatshirt with Minnie Mouse on it. It didn't take her long to know what was happening. "Are we going to Disneyland?" She asked excitedly.

Tyler laughed and nodded. Alyssa cheered and ran to her suitcase to pick out her clothes. She was SO happy! Alyssa had only heard about Disneyland whenever kids at school went and told everyone about it when they returned. She had always wanted to go to Disneyland!

15 minutes later, they were out the door and on the bus. The hotel was only a mile from the park. "We have to ride everything!" Alyssa exclaimed.

Josh told her, "We will. We can also go to California Adventure and go on the rides there."

The bus was parked and Alyssa was the first out of the bus. She smiled and looked around. They had parked in a special place for buses. Josh said, "Since everyone is back in school, it won't be as crowded. I think we're going to go to California Adventure first. That's the side we're on now."

Jenna and Tyler stepped off the bus and a guide introduced herself. Her name was Daisy. She led the group to the park. Alyssa asked, "What should we go on?"

Tyler said she could choose. When Alyssa shrugged, he asked, "Well, have you ever been on a roller coaster?"

"Nope. I've never been to an amusement park," Alyssa shook her head.

Josh gasped. "We're going on California Screamin then! It's fun!"

Alyssa agreed. They entered California Adventure and she couldn't stop smiling. It was amazing! The park had just opened, so there wasn't many visitors yet. But the sun was bright and Alyssa was happy.

The ride was towards the back of the park. There was hardly anyone waiting. Alyssa looked at the roller coaster and froze. "There's a flip?" She asked.

"It's actually not that bad. You'll like it," Jenna said.

Alyssa and Josh got in the very first car while Tyler and Jenna sat behind them. 2 workers came by and checked their seat belts. Then, the cart rolled along and made a left. It came to a stop. Ahead, was a hill with a tunnel partly open. "Wait...we get launched?" Alyssa realized.

"Just keep your head back so you don't hit it on anything," Josh said over the music playing.

Suddenly, a voice came on over the speakers. It said, "And away you go! In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"

Alyssa felt the wind hit her face as they were launched towards the hill. Everyone on the ride screamed with excitement! Quickly, they went up and down the hill and made a couple of turns. Then, they went up a second hill. As they did, Alyssa shouted, "This is great!"

Josh laughed as they went down the hill. After making a right turn, Alyssa could see the flip. She kept her head back and prepared herself. The flip wasn't bad at all! It was fun! After some more turns and drops, Josh called out, "Get ready!"

"For what?!" Alyssa shouted.

Then, a bright light flashed in her eyes. Their picture had been taken. Before they knew it, the ride was over. "What'd you think?" Jenna asked.

"Did you like it?" Tyler poked hid head over the seat.

Alyssa said, "The worst part was when it ended! That was awesome!"

"It was sick," Josh added as they got off.

The picture was highly amusing. Alyssa's eyes were in the middle of closing. Josh was sticking his tongue out. It looked like Jenna was staring at the sky while Tyler looked drunk. Alyssa took out her phone and snapped a picture. She decided to post it on Instagram. Her caption said: I finally rode a roller coaster for the first time! I was nervous at first but it was actually sick!

Tyler said they should ride Tower of Terror next. Daisy escorted them to the ride. The tower was very tall and Alyssa could hear the screams of the riders. They entered the tower and walked into a dark room with some other guests. A small TV in the corner flashed on and a story was told.

The tower was a hotel. On the screen, a group of people stepped into an elevator. They were electricucted and faded away. The elevator itself fell to the bottom floor with a crash. "The Twilight Zone" theme played and the video ended.

There was about 15 minutes of waiting before the actual ride. When it was time, they sat in the front row. First Jenna, then Tyler, Alyssa, and Josh. Once everyone was seated, the doors closed. "This is exciting!" Tyler said.

The "elevator" moved back and Alyssa felt them lift up. They stopped and a pair of doors opened. There was a large mirror and over the speakers, the narrator said, "Wave good-bye to the real world."

Everyone on the ride waved and they were "electrocuted." They went down and the doors opened again and there was a hallway. The hotel guests from the video were standing there. They disappeared and the lights grew dim. Suddenly, the elevator dropped. Alyssa wasn't expecting it and she screamed louder then anyone else on the ride. They went down again and then they were carried up all the way to the top of the hotel.

The doors opened and Alyssa was blinded by the sunlight. Her eyes quickly adjusted and she could see all of California Adventure. The ride dropped twice then they went up to the top again. Finally, they dropped to the bottom and the ride ended. "The next time you check into a deserted hotel on the dark side of Hollywood, make sure you know just what kind of vacancy you're filling..."

Tyler asked Alyssa, over the narration, "Well? What'd you think?"

As they unbuckled their seatbelts, Alyssa said, "This is my favorite ride!"

"This is only the second ride we've ridden today though," Josh added.

"Wait until the end of the day, it'll be my favorite," Alyssa laughed.

Alyssa didn't realize it when it happened, but their picture was taken. Her eyes were wide open because she had been staring at the scenery of the whole park. Josh was sitting casually beside her. Jenna had kissed Tyler's cheek and he was smiling. "Best picture so far," Jenna said.

"Come on! We have more rides we need to get to!" Alyssa said after getting a picture on her phone.

A/N GUYS I'M ENJOYING THIS TOO MUCH SORRY IT'S SO LONG! PART 2 IS COMING LATER TODAY! BUT I'M MAD BECAUSE TOWER OF TERROR IS CLOSING!  THE FINAL DAY IS JANUARY 2ND! WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT??? IT'S SUCH AN ICONIC RIDE!!! TOWER OF TERROR IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE RIDE AT CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!!!! UGH! sorry for the rant. Just had to say that...so what are your favorite rides?
