Fourth of July Part 2

After dinner was cleaned up, Dad and Zack put the fireworks in a wagon. Everyone else grabbed lawn chairs and blankets. Together, the group walked down a few streets to a large, grassy field. As they walked, Tyler and Jenna held hands and talked to Mom and Dad. It was a quiet conversation. Alyssa wondered, What are they talking about? But she didn't want to bother them, so she kept her question to herself.

They arrived at the field and Alyssa helped set up the lawn chairs. The sun was beginning to set as Dad, Jay, and Zack prepared the fireworks. Alyssa sat down on a blue blanket. Tyler sat on a lawn chair beside her. Jenna squeezed herself into the chair with her husband. It was pretty adorable.

"Alyssa, Do you want a sparkler?" Dad asked.

She stood up and said, "Sure! What do I do? Do I have to light it?"

"Nope! Just hold it! Here," Dad handed her a sparkler.

The sparkler began to slowly eat away the stick. Josh got one too and he attempted to write his name out with the spark. But it would disappear before he could finish. Alyssa tried too, but had no luck. After using three sparklers, Jay called to them,"Okay, stop acting like princesses and get ready! Because we're about to light some fireworks!"

Josh turned around, shocked by Jay's comment. Alyssa walked over to him and whispered,"We were majestic princesses."

They laughed as they got ready for the fireworks. Alyssa sat on the blanket again and Josh sat with her. Madison sat in a red lawn chair. Mom called to Dad and the boys, "We're ready!"

BOOM! Zack lit the first firework. Red and blue flashed in the sky. Jay and Zack took turns lighting them while Dad sat down with the family. He and Mom started whispering to Tyler and Jenna. Eventually, Josh joined their conversation. What was happening?

EEEEE POP! Jay lit some firecrackers. Madison and Alyssa smiled and cheered. Suddenly, a finger tapped Alyssa,s shoulder. She turned around. Dad was the one who tapped her. "Yeah?" She asked.

Dad glanced at Mom. Tyler looked at Jenna and Josh. Tyler said, "So, Jenna, Josh and I don't live with Mom and Dad. We have our own house about an hour away."

Alyssa nodded. "I figured," She said.

"Well, we have to head home in a few days....and...well..." Tyler smiled at Jenna and Josh, "We were wondering: do you wanted to live with us?"

Live with my brother, his best friend, and my sister-in-law? Of course! Alyssa thought. "YEAH!" She smiled.

Josh gave her a hug. They turned and watched more fireworks. "Wait! We have to tell the fans!" Josh said, grabbing his phone from his pocket.

He opened Instagram and got ready for a video. Tyler and Jenna leaned in on Josh's right. Alyssa was on his left. Josh held the button and spoke, "Hey everyone! First of all! We want to wish you a happy Fourth of July! And we also want to say that a few weeks ago, we found Tyler's long lost, little sister. She is going to be living with us! This is Alyssa!"

"Hello people! I uh... don't have any social media yet!" Alyssa said.

Tyler leaned in more. "We'll let you guys know when she gets all her social media set up! Thanks! And again, Happy Fourth of July!" As Tyler finished speaking, fireworks in the distance lit up the sky.

Josh added a caption. It said, 'Guess what?! Tyler's youngest sister, Alyssa, is going to live with us!' He posted the video and leaned back.

He wrapped his left arm around Alyssa and she rested her head against his shoulder. Tyler and Jenna sat in the chair beside them. Alyssa smiled. She felt so loved. So happy. Alyssa dozed off watching the fireworks light up the night sky.
