Meeting Them

Alyssa looked up and saw two men walking on the sidewalk. Hoping they wouldn't stop and say 'hi', Alyssa looked down at her dead iPod. Waiiiiit a moment... Alyssa looked up. For a second, they looked like Tyler and Josh...THEY WERE TYLER AND JOSH! Alyssa gulped and looked away...she didn't have the courage to go up to them.

However, Josh glanced at her as he walked by. He must have seen her TØP bracelets because he turned and walked over to her. Tyler followed and smiled. "Hi there," Josh said.

Alyssa froze. Okay, time to wake up. I'd rather wake up now then wake up after "meeting Twenty Øne Piløts" and then cry all morning. But this wasn't a dream. She smiled and Josh took a seat on the bench. Tyler sat on the other side of Alyssa. "Nice bracelets. I think these two are the best though," Tyler pointed to Alyssa's bracelets.

The ones he liked best were (of course) TØP. One said "Twenty Øne Piløts" and the second one said, "The Few, The Prøud, The Emøtional," words from Fairly Local. Alyssa laughed, "Those are my favorite too."

Josh started a conversation and for about 10 minutes, he and Tyler talked to Alyssa about her favorite songs and their meanings. After, it was quiet for a few moments. Alyssa took a deep breath and told them, "Thank you for doing what you do...seriously, your music has gotten me through some of the darkest times of my life. I...I'd be dead without it."

Then something odd happened. Tyler asked her what her name was. When Alyssa told him, he got very quiet. Tyler looked down at the sidewalk as if that name triggered a memory. Josh stared at him with a strange look. Tyler looked back at Josh and Alyssa. Alyssa wondered, Did I do something wrong? Checking the time, she excused herself, saying she had to leave.

Tyler looked at her closely. Then, he yelled, "ALYSSA!"

He tackled her in a bear hug. Confused, Alyssa didn't move. What was Tyler up too? Josh sat there and shrugged. Tyler finally released his grip and smiled. It looked like he was about to cry. "That...that birthmark...it's you!"

Alyssa had a birthmark on her neck. So what? Why was Tyler making a big deal out of it? He took out his phone and called a number. Standing up, he began pacing as he waited for someone to answer. Josh's eyes widened. "Tyler? Maybe you've been in the sun too long. Let's-"

"I FOUND HER, MOM!!" Tyler screamed into his phone.

Well, this was weird. Perhaps Alyssa would be waking up any minute now and it would be just a crazy dream. Josh looked terrified. He stood and went over to Tyler, who was still screaming in the phone. Josh began to say, "Tyler, I think we should get go-"

"THAT'S MY SISTER!" Tyler yelled.

Woahhhh...what was happening? Why did Tyler just call Alyssa his sister? Josh looked extremely uncomfortable. Alyssa was too. They watched Tyler end the call and dial another number. "Hello, yes I'd like to report that a lost child has been found," Tyler spoke.

Josh threw his hands up and sat down with Alyssa again. He shook his head, disappointed. Tyler got off the phone about 5 minutes later and said, "The police is on their way."

"Why?" Alyssa and Josh asked at the same time.

Tyler looked at Alyssa, "You don't know? Whoever you think is your mom and dad...well, they aren't."
