I walked into the school with a lot of positivity today. All the misunderstandings were clear. Everything was perfect.
"Hey how is your project work going?" I asked Mel as I walked to her.
"Great..what about you?"
"Almost done"
"Yeah I'll complete it in the weekend...we need to show it on Monday right?"
"Yeah..am quite nervous"
"Me too...I really need this scholarship or else I won't be able to leave this city and I so want to..I can't live with so many restrictions Ally"
"I know..don't stress yourself it'll be good"
"I hope so...that's why I have chosen a little difficult topic so that I get that extra credit..by the way what is your topic?"
"Immunology"
"Oh" she said. I could see disappointment all over her face.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Actually its my topic too"
"Oh..that's nice..Mrs. Cooper has a thing for such topics"
"I know" she said softly. I was pretty sure something is wrong.
"Is something wrong Mel?"
"I don't know..its like I will be competing with my best friend who also happens to be a topper as we both have the same topic..I mean I know you need this scholarship too"
"Hey come on there's no competition between friends..and you need it more than me..I'll help you with it okay?"
"You're the best best friend one can have Ally"
"I know" I laughed.

I sat next to Max in history. I thanked him again for his support the other day.
"So what's your topic?" I asked.
"Oncology... Yours?"
"Immunology"
"Woah...nice topic"
"Yeah but am a bit nervous...its vast"
"If you want I could help you...I gave a speech on immunisation last year"
"Oh yeah...on the health day celebration.. I remember.. It was amazing... I think that would help"
"Okay so we can do it at your place"
"Yeah Saturday?"
"Cool"
Great. Whatever help I get from Max.. I'll give it to Mel. Her parents are not sending her out to study so if she gets the scholarship she can move out on her own and not worry about the fees.

I didn't see Jake the whole day as we did not have biology today. I walked into the cafeteria. He was not in here too so I decided to text him.
Me- where are you?
I was surprised when the reply came instantly.
Jake Brian- home...checking the arrangements.
Me- arrangements?
Jake Brian- there's a party at my place today? I asked your mum about it last week remember?
Me- oh yeah..I totally forgot.
Jake Brian- okay and let me remind you this too that you are staying the night at my place.
Me- yeah..I know.
Jake Brian- I'll pick you up at 6?
Me- sure.
So..am staying the night at his place. This makes me feel excited and nervous at the same time. I looked at my watch..it was 4:00. I better head home now so that I can get enough time to get ready...given the punctual boyfriend I have.

I looked at myself in the mirror for the hundredth time. I was wearing a white dress that ended mid thigh. It had a deep neckline which I was little uncomfortable about. I guess I need to accompany mom the next time she goes shopping. I curled my hair so that it gives me a little change. I'm so bored of the same old look. I went with flat shoes so that I don't embarrass myself or Jake Infront of his friends.
The door bell rang exactly at 6:00. Woah! Is he ever late? I went down and as usual mom and Jake were having a good time talking. It makes me feel like I am the third person here always.
"Sorry for interrupting" I said as I walked towards them.
Jake looked at me and smirked.
"You look amazing" he said.
"Thank you..you don't look so bad yourself" I smirked.
So bad? Who am I kidding? He looked so damn hot and good looking and ravishing...well I might run out of adjectives here. He was wearing a dark blue shirt which made his blue eyes look even lighter almost colourless.
"I'll wait for you in the car" Jake said leaving the house.
I hugged my mom.
"Here take it...I might be off to work when you're back tomorrow" she said handing me a bunch of keys.
"Okay..thank you" I said awkwardly.
"Enjoy honey" she said kissing my forehead.
"Umm..that's all you gonna say?"
"Oh yeah..don't get pregnant"
"Mom.." I shrieked.
"You only wanted me to say more" she laughed. God..is my mom normal? Are all parents like this?
I hugged her again and then went out.
"Isn't it weird?" I asked Jake getting inside the car.
"That the king of his palace is here leaving his guests behind?"
"No..the king has come to take his Queen so that the palace gets its glory back"
"God.. you're so cheesy"
"Am I? I thought you love cheese"
"Nope..I love you"
He just smiled and kissed my knuckles. Expectantly chills went down through my spine.
