After that hug I thought things would be kinda awkward between Jake and me but he was quite normal. I guess it  wasn't a big deal for him and I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Well the week has been good so far.
Our preparation for the history test was over and today was the last day...umm I was a little sad cause I didn't know whether we will be like this again or not...we don't even talk in school so maybe its the last day of our friendship.
I just looked at him as he continued to go through the topics..thinking that maybe it is the last time he is here in my room.
"What are you thinking baby doll?" Jake asked as our eyes met.
"Umm nothing" I lied.
My phone buzzed..it was a message from mom.
Mom- hey honey I am going to be late today so you will have to prepare dinner yourself...I am so sorry I know I invited Jake for dinner today and then won't be able to cook something nice for him.
Me- it's fine mom..I'll make pasta for both of us.
Mom- one more thing honey...pack few clothes of mine I will be leaving early tomorrow for Boston and I don't think I'll get time to pack after I come home.
Me- when will you return?
Mom- on Monday
Me- but it's my birthday on Saturday
Mom- I know honey..am really sorry..it's really important or else I would have never missed your birthday
Me- it's okay mom I understand

"What happened to you suddenly? You look worried" Jake asked. I didn't know he was looking at me all this while.
"Not worried just sad..mom will be missing my birthday as she is going to Boston tomorrow" I said disappointed.
"When is your birthday?" He asked.
"Saturday"
"Woah day after tomorrow...you didn't tell me baby doll"
"Yeah like I will go around announcing my birthday" I rolled my eyes.
"Some people actually do that you know" he giggled.
I laughed too cause it reminded me of Bianca. She does that..I hope he meant her too..her girlfriend.
"One more thing..I am cooking the dinner tonight" I said getting up from the bed.
"Oh God..should I put a fire brigade on standby?"
"Yeah right...it's not the first time that I am cooking" I rolled my eyes.
"I was kidding baby doll"
"I know and you are supposed to help me"
"Oh so now the guest has to work?"
I didn't say anything. I just rolled my eyes. I do that a lot when he is around.
He followed me to the kitchen. He picked up the table cloth and hung it on his shoulder.
"Tell me what I need to do"
"For now just sit quietly" I smiled sarcastically.
"Okay as you say" he chuckled.
I kept the water on stove to boil and reached out to get the plates. I was thinking about Saturday. So mom won't be there hence I cannot have a party at home. I'll take my friends out for dinner...should I invite Jake? Will he come? Well I can ask at least...no no bad idea what if he declines? I'll feel bad. Anyways my party will be boring for him..he is more of a club person plus he might have plans with his girlfriend after all its Saturday...chill Alice ask him first...
"Just say it baby doll" I heard a whisper into my ears. It frightened me like hell. I immediately turned around and found Jake few inches away from me.
"Umm what?" I asked trying to calm myself down.
"Whatever you are thinking"
"It's nothing"
"You don't look into your eyes right? They speak more than you"
"Umm but seriously I wasn't"
I moved towards the stove.
"Are you sure?" He asked blocking my way
"Yes Jake..now move from my way" I giggled
"Okay I'll set them" he said taking the plates from my hand.

"So how's it?" I asked as he took the first spoon.
"It's really nice..good job baby doll"
"Thanks"
Then we are in silence.
"Umm Jake?"
"Yes?"
"I am taking my friends out for dinner on my birthday...Will you come?"
"You are inviting me?"
"Yeah I guess.."
"Sure..why not..I'll be there"
"Great"
Okay so far it's good. Let's see now if he actually comes. I couldn't stop smiling from the thought of him coming to my birthday.
"See it wasn't that difficult" Jake said suddenly.
"What?"
"This..asking part..you didn't have to think about it so much"
Oh God how does he know me so well? How and why?
"I wasn't thinking about that" I lied.
"Okay atleast you agreed that you were thinking about something..I was right about that part" he smirked.
I just rolled my eyes. See told you I do it a lot around him. He makes me do it.
After dinner we talked for a while..asked each other some history related questions and then it was time for him to go.
"Text me the time and place for Saturday" Jake said as he went out.
"Sure I will" I smiled.

As I lied on my bed several thoughts started pouring in..like whether Jake actually come..what will Mel and Case say when they see him..should I tell them from before..? No no it's better when they see him on Saturday...that way they won't react in the public place as they will if I tell them now..and I shouldn't be worrying about what others will say about me and Jake...if I want to be his good friend then I should not hide it from anyone..I kept thinking about all of it until sleep overpowered me.

Morning

As I entered the school I knew I had to tell Mel and Case about my birthday plans. I saw them giggling and whispering to each other near the lockers.
"Hey what is the gossip?" I asked.
"Ally..you know Jake Brian just looked at us..as in for like more than 5 minutes..he was continuously looking in our direction" Mel squealed.
"Oh" was all I said. Good idea of not telling them until they get to know themselves on Saturday.
"So Ally tomorrow's plan is the usual?" Case asked.
"Actually mom left for Boston today so I'm thinking of taking you all out for dinner" I said.
"Sounds good.." Mel said.
"Yeah and then the night at your place like always?" Case asked.
"Yeah that remains unchanged" I smiled.
"Text us the time and place" Mel said.
"Meet you after class" Case said and they left.
I walked into the history class.
"What's up pre birthday girl?" Max smirked as I sat next to him.
"Nothing...just pre birthday celebrations you know" I giggled pointing towards my history book.
"So all prepared for the test? Oh who am I asking.." he laughed.
"Yeah as if you are not?"
Mrs. Kenley started the class so we had to stop our little chit chat.

"Hey Max I would like to invite you for my birthday tomorrow" I said as we walked into the cafeteria.
"Sure..home?" He asked.
"No am taking everyone out for dinner...place not decided yet"
"Okay inform me then"
"Hey guys let's decide the place for dinner" I announced as Max and I joined Case and Mel.
"How about Ivan Ramen?" Mel suggested.
"You have been there?" Case asked.
"Nope" Mel said.
"Let's not try a new place..it's better to be sure about the food" Case said.
"Yeah.." Max and I agreed.
"How about dirty French?" Case asked.
"Too far from my home" I said.
"Oh then chuck it" Mel said.
We all sat silent thinking of a good place.
"Hey how about STK downtown and rooftop...?I've been there it's good" I asked.
"Yeah me too..they serve good and the ambience is nice too" Max said.
"Okay then it's decided" Mel said.
"Time?" Case asked.
"7 will be okay with everyone?" I asked.
"Yeah" they all agreed.
Okay so it's all decided. Now I just need to inform Jake. I'll inform him once I get home.
