Falling...into the Dark.

"Come on wake up now Mel" I called for the third time as I arranged my books.
"Mel we will get late on the very first day of our senior year. I don't want that"
She was still on the bed covering her ears with the pillow.
"Now get up please" I said removing the pillow.
"Please Ally.. My head hurts" she said getting up, her eyes still closed.
"Well then you shouldn't have gotten drunk yesterday"
"I know but I was so hurt.. I just didn't know what to do" she said trying to adjust her eyes to the light.
"Well alcohol isn't a solution darling" I retorted.
"Hmm" its all she said getting up.
"Now get ready fast" I said handing her my clothes.
"Thank God we wear the same size clothes" she said entering the bathroom.

I went down and prepared two bowls of cereal.
"All set for the final year? " mom said hugging me from behind.
"Ever ready mom" I smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Am leaving for work. Drive safe honey and take care of poor heartbroken Melissa" she winked.
"Oh don't worry about that. She will get over sooner than you can imagine" I winked back.
She just laughed and left.

"Do I look okay?" Mel asked me as she got into the car.
She was wearing a sleeveless red top and black ripped jeans of mine.
"You look great Mel"
"I feel a little claustrophobic in them"
"That is the least body covering clothes of mine" I rolled my eyes.
"I know I know... Well I can manage a day" she smiled and gave me a flying kiss.
Ah! Its so good to have best friends.

I stopped in front of the college. My other best friend Casey was leaning on her car probably waiting for us. I got off the car and gave her an apologetic look.
"Cause of you Ms. Punctual is almost late that too on the first day of the session" she scoffed at Mel.
"No one cares about my heart all they care about is school" Mel said faking a sad face.
"No no I care" I raised my hand.
"Oh babe me too" Casey squeaked.
We three broke into a laughter and had a group hug.
I so missed this.
"How was your trip Case? " I asked entering the college.
"Great but I so missed you guys"
"Yeah we too right Mel-"
I looked at her and saw she was not paying attention. She was looking at Tom..the same guy who dumped her yesterday which made her go all drunk and then end up at my home since her parents are very strict.
She looked at him as he happily flirted with another girl. Typical boy.
"Stop it Mel.. Its just that freak Tom. You are behaving as if you broke up with Jake Brian" Case said.
"Come one Case a heart break is a heart break.. Doesn't matter who the guy is" I interrupted.
"Actually Case is right... He isn't that good. I can get better" and with that her eyes shifted to him. Jake Brian.

There he was looking 'Jakish' as usual which by the way means irresistibly hot and good looking. Every girl was eyeing him hungrily as he continued talking to his girlfriend Bianca Moore. Apparently she is the hottest girl of our college and after dating jake her popularity has reached the sky.
Jake joined our school in the junior year and instantly became famous.
Bianca made her first move being the kind of desperate she is. Obviously they got along as in Bianca's words "No one says no to a face like this". I remember her announcing that in the cafeteria when people asked him if she was dating Jake.
Not that its my concern. I am least interested. I have never talked to jake apart from some weird eye contacts. Nonetheless a guy like that doesn't roam with a girl like me.

Casey and Melissa continued to look at him and giggle which annoyed me.
" come on guys we need to take our routine too. Class is going to start in few minutes " I said going ahead.
They led out a sigh and followed. One of them is already dating a guy while the other just had a breakup. Can you even tell that??
We walked into the office and got our routines. "Okay my first class is history" I said scrutinizing the routine.
"We will meet you during break" Case said and after hugging me they left.
I went into my class and was happy to see Max. Good atleast I have a person to talk to. Not that the rest were strangers but then I talk to very few people over here.
He smiled and I sat next to him.
"So how was your holidays? " he asked.
"Nothing special.. Just read books..went here and there with Mel. What about you?"
"Went to rock climbing" he grinned.
"Woah..that's something"
"Oh yeah hell lot of fun"
I smiled and then straightend as Mrs. Kenley our history teacher entered the class.
History class was boring not because it was history but because I had already studied the chapter in the holidays so it was like 'history repeating itself' .Okay bad joke.

After history there was trig and then literature. Both went well. I was so happy to see Casey in my trig class. Although she never really pays attention but having your best friend beside you feels good.

"You should have seen how that Kate was trying so hard to hit on Jake" Casey said as we walked towards the cafeteria.
She continued "... But the way he ignored her.. Made me laugh so much.. Poor kate" she laughed.
"Well why were you looking at jake during the class?" I questioned.
"Oh come on if I can't have him at least I can look at him to the fullest" she giggled.
"Yeah right" I rolled my eyes.
We entered the cafeteria and saw Mel already waiting for her. Not far from her was Jake sitting casually as Bianca chattered away beside him.
Umm nice couple.. Wait a minute did he just look at me? Did he just notice me? Obviously not... But then why I am suddenly cold?
