Alice.

Well it's award giving day. I am quite excited...umm not cause I'll get an award but overall it feels good to see people being credited for their hard work and also cause it gives you a feeling of nostalgia and how you will be out of school in a while.
Out of school...hmm I need to talk about our future with Jake...by future I mean career wise. We can always opt for the same university...unless he has other plans..like going to California..umm I don't know...I want him to be with his dad but then I want him to be with me too. Maybe I can go to California too...I'll talk about it to him today.

I heard the car's horn and I knew he was here. This man defines punctuality. I grabbed my stuffs and went out.
"Someone looks very excited" Jake said as I got into the car.
"Yeah...and anxious too...it's like graduation is near"
"True..time flies so fast"
"Yeah"
"So ready to go up and receive your award?"
"Not more than you" I winked.
"I love you so much" he laughed and kissed my cheek.
I kissed him back.
"I can do this all day...But we are getting late"
"Yeah..right"

Jake.

We reached right on time. The auditorium had started to get filled up. As we entered Melissa and Casey waved at us..they had saved two seats for us.
"Josh is not coming?" Alice asked Casey.
"No..his uncle had an accident so he is at the hospital" Casey said.
"Oh God is he alright?" Alice asked.
"Yeah..nothing serious" Casey assured.
Okay..I didn't know Josh and Casey were dating. That guy is a total douchèbag. Well...it's none of my business..maybe he is nice with her.
Our principal got on the stage and everyone stood up.
"Its nice to see you all final year students together...so we all have gathered here to award you for your hard work in school in all these years..those of you are getting an award are surely deserving but in my eyes you all are winners here...so sit back and enjoy as it will be your last event in this school...before your graduation ceremony"
Everyone applauded as he finished his speech. He was right we all are winners and I am already holding my trophy. I looked at Alice and her hand in mine.
"Is something wrong?" She asked when I kept looking at her.
"Yes..you're just too beautiful..that's actually very wrong"
"You're mad Jake" she giggled.
I just smiled and kissed her hand.

Mrs. Cooper came to the Mic with the list of names. There near where our principal was sitting was placed the trophies which would be handed to us by him.
"Okay..so we start category wise...first we start with sports"
Alice looked at me. I gave her a flying kiss.
"Please come up to the stage as I call your names...Jake Brian" Mrs. Cooper called out my name first.
Alice gave a squeeze to my hand as I got up to receive the trophy. I got up the stage and was followed by Tony..Mark...Greg...they all deserved it.
"Mr. Brian well done" Mr. Graham, our principal said as I went up to him.
"Thank you" I smiled.
I got back to my seat as the rest of them collected their trophy.
Then Mrs. Cooper went through two more categories. We applauded as people went up in all smiles to collect their awards.
"Now it's for academics" Mrs Cooper announced.
This time I looked at Alice and squeezed her hands. She smiled nervously. She had stage fear and I knew her name would be called first.
"Alice Mayor" her name was called. She got up and walked up to the stage.
"Max Benson...Adrian Peterson...Jake Brian"
My name was called too. Honestly I was expecting this.
I got up as Alice was getting down.
"Congratulations baby doll" I whispered.
"Congratulations to you too" she smiled.
We sat through few categories. Many of them were receiving trophies. There were happy faces every where. Melissa got for technology and so did Max. I didn't know they were good at technical stuffs.
"Jake..I need to go to the washroom" Alice whispered into my ears.
"This is the last category..just another 5 minutes"
"Its cultural..obviously am not getting any trophy for this one..plus my bladder is gonna explode"
"Okay...go baby doll" I chuckled.
I sat there as the names were called out.
"Casey Anderson...Bianca Moore....Kate Wenger...Jake Brian" Mrs. Cooper announced.
Me? Well this I wasn't expecting.
I got up and took the trophy. I looked around...baby doll hasn't come yet. She will be surprised as well.
The event was finally over. Everybody were busy congratulating each other.
"Mr. Brian...congratulations" Mr. Graham said.
"Thank you sir" I smiled.
"So how is your father doing? I heard he shifted to California"
"Yeah..just business thing...he is alright"
"Oh great...he must be so proud of you.."
I just smiled. I didn't know what to say to that cause and clearly I didn't want to lie. I haven't spoken to him since a long time. I think he finally gave up on persuading me...good for him.
"Hey Jake.." Bianca squealed coming up to him.
"Oh hey"
"Oh my God three trophies...you're the best"
"Okay..that's an exaggeration though"
"Nope...you're the best" she said and kissed me. That caught be off guard...I didn't see that coming.
"Never do that again...Never" I said angrily.
I walked off. I was so pissed at her. I thought she was changing...but I was wrong. I went out of the auditorium to look for Alice.
"Hey man...congratulations" Tony came and hugged me.
"Yeah...to you too"
"Why are you in such a hurry?"
"Am looking for Alice"
"Oh I just saw her going to the music room"
"Thanks man"
"Anytime"
I walked towards the music room. What is she doing there?
