Melissa left early as she was expecting guests at home. Casey too has left since she bunked the last class. I will have to take a bus or a cab after returning these books to the library.
"Hey Alice..." I heard Jake's voice behind me. I literally froze but then managed to turn back without looking like a freak.
"Hi Jake" I smiled.
"I needed your help in my upcoming test" he said calmly.
"Wasn't it you who secured 2nd in biology last year?" I asked with a smirk.
"And wasn't that you who secured 1st on biology last year?" He smirked back.
"Okay but it was a matter of one mark.."
"I know but the thing is I need help in history not biology...I have a test next Friday"
"Umm history? But we are not even in the same class"
"But we have the same syllabus right?"
"True..Okay then I'll help you"
"Thank you so much..so when and where?"
" My house? Today evening?"
"Sure. I'll be there" he said taking out his phone. There was a phone call.
"Give me your number I'll text you the address" I said as I was getting late.
"I'll text you I have your number" he said going out of the class.
He has my number? HOW? sorry wrong question..WHY? It's just so weird. I hurried to the library not giving a second thought to what just happened..ah it's a lie I was thinking about it the entire time. I was so lost in the the thoughts that instead returning the library book I almost gave away two of my own books. Come on Alice it's just like you are giving him tuitions nothing else. Just get your mind right before evening.

I got out of the library and checked my phone. It was a text from a new number. Must be Jake's. I saved it and replied. Within seconds my phone vibrated again.
Jake Brian- so time and address?
Me- 601 W 33rd St. At 5?
Jake Brian- sure.

Okay...so Jake Brian is coming to my house today....I dont know its so weird..and I will be teaching him..Will I be able to? I hope I don't blurt out something stupid. All these thoughts conquered my mind until I reached home.
"Mom are you home?" I shouted entering.
"In the kitchen" I heard her voice.
She was baking. Perfect.
"Could you please make some coffee ..a friend of mine is coming" I said hugging her.
"Who? New friend?"
"Umm kinda"
"When is she coming?"
"At 5..and its a he not she"
"Whhhaatt?"
She quickly washed her hands and followed me to the room. God save me.
"Tell me who is this he?"
There was an evident happiness on her face.
"Mom am just helping him in studies..that's it" I rolled my eyes.
"Oh a student" she said with now a frown.
"Yes" I smiled back.

I quickly changed into a brown shirt and my pjs. It's not a date or something that I will dress up. I was brushing my hair when I heard the doorbell ring. I quickly ran down. Mom had already opened the door. I could see she was awestruck but I cannot blame her. He was there working his Jakish charms on her.
"This is for you Mrs. Mayor" he said handing flowers to mom. She was totally smitten.
"Thank you so much" she said.
"Hey there" he said looking at me.
"Hi" I replied timidly. It felt as if I was interrupting some date.
"Take your friend to your room Alice...sexy student huh" mom said as she brushed passed me. Thankfully it was audible only to me.

"Woah for the first time a girl's room isn't pink" Jake remarked as he entered.
"How many girl's room have you seen?"
"Uhh..you won't want to know that" he smirked.
"Right..and I am more of a white person not pink"
"But pink really suits you"
"What?"
"I mean the room..pink would have suited the room"
"Can we start now?"
"Sure ma'am. Do it your way"

We started with the first chapter French revolution. I marked the important points and asked him to go through it.
"Learn them and then I'll ask questions"
"Questions? Seriously?"
"Yes seriously"
"Okay"

Every now and then he checked his phone. It was so irritating. How can anyone study like this?
"I'll take that" I said snatching his phone.
"What...please" he pleaded.
"My way or not?"
"Okay your way"
"Good...Learn fast..you have just 10 more minutes"
After that he fully concentrated on his studies. His phone continued to ring but I kept it inside my pocket.
After ten minutes I asked him a few questions and surprisingly he answered all of them correctly.
"Good..now learn the next topic"
"no break?"
"Nope.."
"Please...just 5 minutes"
"my way or not?"
"Your way" he Said with a frown.

And this continued until we managed to complete few topics. Mom came to give us coffee and cakes.
"Thank you Mrs. Mayor...you just gave me a break" he said closing his books.
"Come on Alice don't be so harsh on your student" she winked and left.
"Now can I have my phone?"
"Nope..eat fast then back to studies..we need to cover one more topic"
"But now am on a break"
"Okay then break over"
"Please?"
"My way or not?"
"Okay your way...you're such a baby"
"Oh please no"
"Yes baby doll"
"Yikes..."
"You didn't like it?"
"Not at all"
"Okay then you just earned yourself a new name baby doll"
"Oh come on back to studies"

Finally it was completed. "I have written some questions if you get time then go through them or else we will do it together" I said as he packed his bag.
"We will do it together...don't leave me alone with history questions"
"Okay library tomorrow?"
"Umm no..what about here only?"
"Tomorrow I have work"
"No problem text me when you can"
"Sure I will"

With that he finally left...obviously not before wishing my mom and kissing her hands. My mom was all red. After dinner I went to my room and checked my phone. There was a message from Jake.
Jake Brian- thank you for today baby doll.
Me- anytime.

I lied down with a giddy feeling. I closed my eyes before my thoughts don't let me sleep.
