There sits our family, giving us creepy smiles. They set up a surprise graduation gift for Tonii, Imma, Spenser, Andre and I. They announced that we have a surprise gift about 15 minutes ago but have yet to say anything. I won't lie my patience is kinda running out.
"Soooooo what's the surprise!!" Tonii's voice holds excitement and a hint of annoyance. Oh her patience is running low.
"Gather around the projection screen." Tonii's dad Bryce tells us. We do as he says. We all gather around the screen and sit down on a mix of comfortable chairs, patio sofas, and bean bag chairs.
"Let me just say that I'm beyond proud of you. I love you and your friends, expect Andre. He still on my shit list..." Uncl Mike's speech goes from heartfelt to threatening real quick. "Just playing Andre. You cool with me. All of us got together and decided the best gift for our five graduates." Uncle Mike presses a button on the remote and the projector starts playing.
Imagines of cliffs overlooking costal blue waters pop up. White sandy beaches and boats are the subject of the next set of pictures. Caves and European style homes and restaurants are tech last pictures shown before words appear on the screen. Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete display brightly on the now white screen. Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete? That sounds really familiar.
"OOOO SHIT!!! Tonii and Sophy!!!!" Imma yells out.
"What happened?" We look at her in concern.
"GREECE!"
"Huh?" We both asked confused.
"AHHHH!!! GREECE!!! HAHA!!! GREECE!" Now by this time Imma is jumping up and down like a dang fool. She know damn well we can't understand her.
"Why she keep talking about grease? She frying chicken later?" Andre questions as we watch our friend. She jumps in the air a few more times before deciding to calm down and relax.
"No Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete!!!! Are places in Greece!!!" Imma explains with a large smile on her face.
"Greece?" Tonii, Spenser, Andre and I say I'm confusion. Then like shots being fired on the forth of July, we realized what was going on.
"We're going to Greece?" I question a cheesing Jeremiah.
"Y'all are going to Greece." Jeremiah responds while laughing.
"WE'RE GOING TO GREECE!!!" We yell out before jumping around like crazy people. After 10 minutes of yelling and doing our happy dances, which consisted of the The Shamoney dance and the Milly Rock, we were calm and ready for details.
"Y'all good now?" Uncle Mike questions in amusement. We all nod our head with an eager yes. "As you know, we got together and decided a gift for the five of you. You will be spending a month in Greece to explore the ancient beauty and modern architecture of the beautiful country. Also...."
"Hold up! Why you sound like you reading from a pamphlet?" I question making my Uncle shot me a fake glare. I throw my hands up in surrender.
"...Like I was saying, y'all graduation gift is a trip to Greece!" He says with a smile.
"Oh snap!!! We gonna be alone in Greece for a month. Twerking on some sexy Greek Gods, oh I'm so ready!" Imma says with a dreamy look.
"What you said about twerking?" Mom Seline says getting ready to take off her heel and beat her daughter with it.
"I said tweeting for the lord mama!" Imma tries to defend herself.
"You going to hell." Everyone says looking at Imma she glares at all of us before laughing.
