"Who the f*ck are you?" The voice asks again. It's a female's voice. The teenage girl standing in front of me is 5'5. Her complexion is a toasted brown. Her black hair is cut in a short bob. She is wearing a black tight skirt, white shirt, with black heels that are at least 5 inches tall. The heels make her final height 5'10. Damn I should have drunk more milk when I was younger, hell I would be taller than 5'2. I stop focusing on my shortness to see her dark brown eyes are burning through my soul.
"I will ask you this one more time. Who the f*ck are you??" The girl seems very annoyed by now. She looks me up and down again before getting a shocked expression. "Sophia Taylor?" She says my name like it's poison.
"Do I know you?" The girl seems familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Probably because she already has been rude.
"I'm Nichole Samuels. I go to the same school as you. I'm also a senior. I'm head of the Honor Society, captain of the Debate team, I will be co-Valedictorian with Andre when we graduate, and I plan on attending Duke University next fall to study Law with Andre. After we both graduate we will have 4 kids and live in a 6 bedroom house of my choice. My father is councilman Samuels and my mother co owns the law firm Harris & Samuels. I'm also Andre's girlfriend." After giving me her resume, she walks into the house. I close the door behind me and go sit down on the couch where I was before I opened the door. Nichole sits in a chair opposite of me.
"Sophia Taylor. How long have you known my Andre?" She sizes me up. Your Andre? Girl please. He doesn't introduce himself saying "Hello my name is Nichole's Andre". Stop doing out the trick is talking.
"Well I have him for Literature and Marine Biology. He sits next to me in both classes." I look at her and see the disgust in her eyes.
"Andre is mine."
"Excuse me?" I give her my full attention.
"Andre is mine. Whatever you two have going on is not important to him. It's just a little phase. You're not good enough for him. We belong together. My family and his expects us to be together and we will. You are below us. You're Sophia Taylor. You are one of them."
"One of them??" If she answers this the wrong way all Shizz might break loose.
"One of the popular girls. You care more about your looks than your future. I've seen you around with your friends. Laughing, joking, not focusing on your future. You will never be good enough for Andre. You should know it now, so you never step over the lines separating your kind from our kind." Her tone is cold. She must say this to people everyday because it seems so natural.
"Sophia, I made your sandwich the way you wanted. No mayo and pickles." Andre calls out from the kitchen. I get up and go into the kitchen. Even the kitchen has all white furniture. I take a seat across from Andre. He is smiling until he spots Nichole taking a seat next to him.
"Nichole what are you doing here."
"Is that anyway to treat your girlfriend?" Her voice is sickly sweet.
"You're not my girlfriend." Andre moves his chair away from her but she just moves closer.
"That's not what our parents think." She takes a piece of his sandwich. "Ew you know I hate cheese. It will make me fat." Andre choose to ignore her.
"Sophia have you met Nichole?"
"Yes I have. She gave me her resume and told me y'all are perfect together." Nichole slides her chair closer to him and wraps her arms around his waist. She begins kissing his cheek and its enough to make me want to throw up.
"Well I can see you two need to spend time together. I'm just going to head out. Thanks for the sandwich Andre." I leave the kitchen and go into the living room to gather my stuff. Andre walks me to the front door.
