Jess leaned her head on her fist as she fought the urge to fall asleep to her father's ramblings. It also didn't help that her brother had already given into the same urge, and now had his face plastered to her shoulder. A glob of saliva hung from his lips as he dreamt of his past experiences with...

She disengaged her mind from her brother's in disgust. She did not need to know the intricate details of his love life. As is, she practically lived his thoughts. Her father rambled on about how lonely it had been since their last visit. She looked at her brother's watch. The numbers were slowly counting down the last minute they had to endure with their temper mental father.

The watch beeped joyously, and Jess jumped up, slamming her elbow into her brother's face as she did so. He responded by falling off of the couch he was precariously situated on.

"C'mon, brother of mine. We no longer have to endure the painful agonies of family time."

"Oh, before you two go gallivanting off, make sure you bring your presents with you. I do not want a repeat of last time." He gave them a stern look that made them both shiver. Presently, they complied with his wish.

"Tallyho, dad, see you in a thousand years."

She linked her arm through her brother's and attempted to balance the pile of gifts in her arms.

"Are you alright, sister of mine?"

She nodded, and urged him telepathically to get them out of there.

"And, we're off!"

"Let us pussy foot!"

Her brother jumped, and they were propelled into the Time Vortex.  The wormhole swirled around them as they hurled through time. A present blew off of the stack and disappeared withing seconds.

"Well, someone will have a field day with that." She conversed with her brother.

"What was that again?" He replied.

She checked her mental list. "I believe that was a fez."

"In that giant box? Who wraps a fez in a giant box?"

"Methinks it was our newly discovered Uncle."

"That would explain the label inside reading 'Don't lose this fez.' From what I heard from our father's stories, our Uncle--the Doctor-- is rather obsessed with them."

"Alrighty... Where are we going, brother of mine?"

"Uh, our birthday. Or rather, the day of our birth."

"She died that day, you nitwit. How will we talk to her if she's dead?"

"I didn't exactly think through all the details."

Suddenly a foreign object blindsided them, causing them to separate.

"Hello there," Jack shouted as he was flung sideways.

"What the," she screamed as she was thrown out of the Time Vortex.
