Jack stumbled as he jumped out of the Time Vortex, landing right outside room 319. The door was off its hinges, laying on the floor. He took the defabricator off his back-- the reason for jumping into the Time Vortex-- and rolled into the room, aiming it around the room. He sniffed the air when he noted the empty room.
"Sulfur," he groaned. "How many times do we have to fight these guys?"
A noise behind him. Jack swung the weapon around. Jess snorted. "It's just me, Jack. You are jumpy."
"Um, the school is being attacked? By the Raxicoricofallapatorians, I might add."
She smiled and ear-to-ear grin and bit her lip. "Oh, goody. Sounds fun."
It was then that Jack noted the full black eyes his sister donned once again. She looked down the hallway.
"I think I see something down there. Come, Jack, let's get this fight started!"
She took off like a bullet down the hallway, and he raced after her. He was frightened as to what damage she could do alone. He could see his sister reach into her suit pocket and pull out her sonic pen. She held it in front of her like sword.
He could see one of the enemy carrying a young girl in its arms. He could only guess it was the girl they were looking for. Jess caught up to them and leaped at the giant alien, grabbing it from behind.
"Jess, you distract them! I will get the Empress to safety." He wouldn't dare leave the girl with his sister when she was like this.
Jess strangled the alien until it dropped the young girl to the floor. Jack promptly scooped her up and hid her inside one of the other rooms, running to join the fight. He was about to shoot them all with his defabricator, but he was surprised to find no one in the hallway but his sister. She sat on the floor, giggling wildly. He knelt on the ground, feeling her forehead. It was slightly warm.
"Jess, what happened? Are you okay?"
She calmed her laughter and drew in a deep breath, her eyes returning to normal. "Yeah. I am fine... I , uh, killed them all?"
"That's it, Jess. As soon as we get the Empress to complete safety, I am having the Professor take a look at you."
"Okay, but I am fine, really."
He grabbed her by her elbows and lifted her to her feet. They went to where he hid Lilya. Lifting her into his arms, he motioned to Jess to hop on his back. What was the safest place in the universe? Inside the Doctor's TARDIS.
"What, no catchphrase," Jess nudged him.
He sucked in his cheeks and time-skipped them to the Doctor's TARDIS. Jess hopped down from his back and walked beside them. Slowly, the girl stirred in his arms. She looked around nervously, then quietly coughed.
"Where am I?"
Jack looked down at her. "You are safe for now. Jess and Jack Daniels will take care of ya."
She rubbed her forehead. "Okay..."
"We are just bringing you someplace."
They had reached the police box, and Jack set Lilya down. She looked at them as if they were insane.
"A police box?"
Jack snapped his fingers, and the TARDIS doors opened. Lilya stared into the space in shock.
"It's... It's..."
"We know. Listen, the guy inside will know what to do. Good luck."
They time-skipped away before she could turn around.
