Jack sat on a bench and ran his hands through his hair in frustration. Lacie sat beside him and sighed out of the side of her mouth.
"She's not in the 18th century. She's not in the 19th century. Heck, she's not even in the 20th century! How hard is it to find a girl wearing a suit, who talks to herself?"
Jack turned and leaned back on the bench, shooting her a mock smile. She nodded and pretend-slapped herself.
"Duh, those centuries were chalk full of 'em... Where should we look next? Is there anywhere she would think of going once she made a vortex manipulator?"
Jack shook his head and bit his thumb. "She can't even build a chair, and you think she'd be able to build a T.V.M.? Although... Perhaps if our good friend found her, then that could explain a few things. Our father told us that Miss Frame had absconded with his T.V.M. It is very possible that she was in the same time era as Jess."
"So, where would they go? It's not like they could possibly know exactly where we'll jump to... Oh, right. Sorry, being trapped in one time era really gets to you. Stupid Professor."
Jack stood and fiddled around with his watch, calculating how much time he would have to jump past to get to the preferred place.
"Got it," He announced. "Now, my dear Lacie, if you would grab onto my--"
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Grab onto your arm and never let go."
She linked her arm through his and clung to him like a leech. "Let's get this over with. You tow should really invest in a TARDIS."
"Now where would be the fun in that? And we're off!"
He jumped and counted in his head the seconds needed to land in the proper place. Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve. He pulled them out of the vortex and onto solid ground.
"Voila! Home sweet home!"
Lacie detached herself from him and scoffed. "You have a pool shaped like a pineapple. Seriously?"
Jack cocked his head and squinted. "What is a dumpster doing in my pool?"
"JACK!" A loud, overly-excited scream came from behind him as he was slammed into and became part of a bear hug.
He spun around and lifted his sister in the air. "Finally! I found you!"
"Put me down, you bird-brain! We have guests."
Jack complied and looked past his sister at the group all wearing sunglasses and drinking pina coladas. Nicki Frame waved and took a sip of her drink. Two young men raised their cups with a nod. Jack lowered his head to whisper in Jess' ear.
"Umm... who are they?"
As if on cue, the tall blonde one came forth and outstretched his arm. "I am terribly sorry about crashing in your pool. I am the Professor, and this is my companion, Vincent."
"They make me want to kill myself," Jess telepathically told him. "He's a grammar freak, and Vincent has to write down EVERYTHING that happens!"
Jack cleared his throat, taking the Professor's hand in his. "I am Jack. Jack Daniels."
Lacie stomped on the Professor's foot, making him hop up and down in pain.
"Lacie!" Jess hugged their friend.
"Oh yeah, and this is Lacie. I think you two know each other."
Lacie stuck her tongue out at the Professor. "He left me waiting five years, and he never showed up! Never trust a Timelord."
"Hey,!" The Professor, Jess, and Jack chorused.
