"Hey, Ash," Luke pulls Ashton close as he walks through the door, catching the curly-haired boy off-guard.
Ashton smiles, kissing his sweet boyfriend on the lips. "Hey, babe."
Luke giggles when Ashton stares at him, pleasantly surprised. "I've been waiting for you."
Ashton raises his eyebrows, tossing his keys on the counter and kicking off his shoes while Luke closes the door. "I wasn't gone for more than ten minutes?" He pulls Luke back in by the waist, wanting to continue touching him.
Luke shakes his head. "Check again, babe. It's been half an hour." Luke is used to this. Ashton gets caught in the fans and the paparazzi while on such a simple errand.
Ashton gawks at him, "Lukey, you could've called me! I'm so so sorry." He is honestly about to cry- he is tired of making promises and then not fulfilling them, in turn leaving Luke alone.
Luke places a soft kiss on the older boy's lips. "It's okay, I understand."
Tears start flooding Ashton's cheeks and Luke finally pulls him to the couch and into a warm hug. "It's okay, Ashy, I promise," he whispers, stroking the boy's hair.
"N-no, it's not!" he sobs and Luke pulls him closer. "I always leave you alone. I get so caught up with the fans and the paparazzi. I'm so selfish!"
Luke shakes his head again, shushing Ashton. "No, sweetie, you're not selfish. You're the opposite. You stop to appreciate your fans- the fans who give you everything. We wouldn't have met if it weren't for them, yeah?"
Ashton nods, wiping one of his own tears. Luke gently holds his cheek, locking eyes with him. "They love you so much, Ash. And you love them. It's so amazing and heartwarming that you'll stop and talk to someone you don't even know and have a genuine conversation." Luke is on a roll now, rambling about everything he admires about Ashton.
Ashton giggles as he keeps babbling passionately, finally putting a finger over his lips, "Thank you, love."
Luke blushes, "You feel better?"
Ashton nods, smiling gently. "I just wish I could be here for you more."
Luke smiles. "You keep being you. I love you."
Ashton nods, grinning. Even after all this time, the words still make him giddy and zealous. "I love you."
Suddenly, Luke pushes Ashton down on the couch, straddling him. "And since we have," Luke leans down to whisper in his boyfriend's ear, "alone time now..."
Ashton's breath hitches as Luke's hands travel under his shirt.
Luke giggles and Ashton pushes them backwards so he's on top. "'Course, baby."

Luke groans in frustration, yanking at his hair as he stares at his laptop screen.
Ashton has been watching him for the past fifteen minutes struggle with something until he finally worriedly asks, "Hey, baby, you okay?"
"No! Fuck- sorry." Luke stops himself from bursting, looking up at Ashton with red eyes.
Ashton's eyes are wide from Luke's yelling, but they soften when Luke breaks down. He pulls Luke into his lap, running his fingers through the unruly blond hair. "What's the matter?" he asks softly.
Luke just sobs harder, soaking Ashton's Green Day sweater (that Luke bought him for Christmas- cheesy, I know right?)
"M-my dad fell really badly at his workplace because a machine malfunctioned. They're b-blaming it on him even though he's still unconscious."
"Oh my god," Ashton whispers. "Baby, oh my god."
"I kn-ow," Luke chokes out. "Now we're in debt and I can't even fly out to see him. I'm giving them all my college money."
Ashton shakes his head, "No- you're not."
"But that's the only way-"
"No. I have money, Luke."
"No." Luke sits up, "That's not fair."
"Yes it is. Your family took my mum, my siblings and myself in when no one else would. You all gave so much- you don't deserve this. It's absolute bullshit." Ashton's voice is big; Luke has never heard him be so passionate and loud about something he's standing up for (other than the time he was asked about anti-bullying on an international news channel- that was powerful). He's usually just passive agressive. "Plus, these are the kinds of things I'd like to use my money for. I've got more than enough for myself."
Luke is crying even more, but these are happy tears and he doesn't know why the universe is letting this happen to him.
So he tackles Ashton, kissing him hard, sobbing out "thank you"s against him.
Ashton wraps his arms and legs around Luke and they can't get close enough. "God, I'm so lucky. So so so lucky. Thank you so much, Ashton."
Ashton giggles, "Of course, love. I'm going to start helping others, too."
Luke pulls back, grinning proudly, "Promise?"
Ashton grins back and holds out his pinky, Luke linking it with his in response, "Promise."

okay so well i just thought this was a good idea to show both of their struggles, since one was financially and one was relationship-y.
i love the idea of the boys helping others this way, too, rather than emotionally and such (which i love and appreciate them so much for).
