Heya! This is a story that I'm turning in for my English class, whoop. I'm nervous. (There are vocabulary words but I didn't highlight them in here.)
Title from the song All You Need is Love by The Beatles performed by Glee because I couldn't find a good audio by the actual Beatles so
(p.s. the different spacing is just because I copied it from what I'm turning in to my teacher and I'm too lazy to change it)

"All you need is love."
Michael can barely hear the song over the bustling of people's footsteps, the clanking of dishes and everyone's excited conversations. Today is the day that will make history in the United States.
It's the day the Supreme Court will announce their decision on same-sex marriage. It's important to Michael that he be here on this Friday. He's been rallying here since Monday and is currently waiting in this cute little cafe next to his hotel for his boyfriend and their best friends. Calum had been with him the whole week, but he spent the night at Luke and Ashton's last night so he could drive them up here this morning. It's 8:33am, so the boys should be here soon.
He scrolls through thousands of pictures on social media about the whole week. He watches different couples talking about the struggles they have had and he watches others break down at the thought of finally being validated in all 50 states. He adds a few of his own pictures to the mass and he reads different predictions of the final outcome. He reads stories of people killing themselves and then watches them be killed by others because they're "different" and people can't handle that.
Of course Michael doesn't hear the door chime, but a loud familiar voice is what rattles him from his almost horrifying trance. Michael laughs, recognizing his friend's declaration of presence. He turns around to see Luke flaunting through the door and stopping to put his hands on his hips. He's probably the most colorful- and loudest, in all respects- object, person, and animal in this room. He stands in the middle of the cafe with clothes that look as if they were birthed from rainbows and a gay flag as a cape.
Usually Michael would hide his face in embarrassment, but he figured he'd embrace it today, considering the circumstances.
Michael laughs when Ashton walks in and shoves Luke forward, muttering an "Idiot."
"At least I'm fabulous," Luke sasses back. Ashton rolls his eyes as Michael stands up to greet them.
The two finally spot Michael and they all yell some form of 'hello' that sounds more like a battle cry. Hugs are exchanged and then they're on their way to Michael's booth. "Where's Calum?" he asks.
Ashton shrugs, "He was caught up in taking pictures or something." Michael nods. He'd figured as much. As long as he'd known Calum, the boy had been obsessed with taking pictures. They were really beautiful, actually, and Michael couldn't wait to see how the ones from later today would turn out.
Just two minutes later, a brown-haired boy walks through the door with a camera held in his hands connected to a strap around his neck. He looks around the cafe in awe and thinks Michael made a good choice. He looks down and scans the seats, immediately spotting Luke doing his version of the chicken dance next to a booth with two red-faced teens who look like they've run a marathon.
Calum shakes his head and makes his way over to his three best friends. "Hello, people-I-know-but-probably-shouldn't-because-one-of-them-is-a-blonde-idiot!" Ashton laughs and Luke pouts until Calum smirks, "I meant you, Ashton."
Luke busts out laughing and Ashton crosses his arms. Calum laughs, turning to Michael who is smiling at him fondly. "Hey, Mikey," he says, sitting next to him in the booth while the other two fight over who is more of a buffoon.
