Oliver King was a 6"1" muscular 24 year old with short brown hair and a very humorous attitude. He worked all day making weapons for the Evergreen soldiers. Every night he was covered with burns, sweat, blood, and ash. HE wished he wasn't born so pour. His only possession was his flying fox Verizon. (A flying fox is a small fox like creature with bat wing like ears and yes, it can fly).

Verizon would go out and hunt during the time when Oliver was away. That made his live a whole lot easier. All he had to do was cook it with some town crops and then he had his daily meal.

He got home one night and grabbed a towel and wiped his face. Verizon was waiting for him with a dead some fresh meat.

"You go girl" he praised as bent down and high fived her.

Verizon licked his hand and then flew into the kitchen.

Oliver's home wasn't much. It was a small wooden house. All he had was a kitchen, a bedroom , and a bathroom. He didn't care. That was all he needed.

He took off his shoes and went back outside to start a fire to cook dinner. Verizon followed him outside.

"I wish you could breathe fire" he sighed. "That would make my job a whole lot easier".

He sat outside for an hour while the meat and a few carrots cooked. He started playing his flute when a middle aged man walked up at stared at him. Te man was wearing a brown cloak and Oliver couldn't tell hat he was wearig underneath.

Oliver tried to ignore the man but he didn't budge. Oliver turned around.

"What do you want?" he asked politely.

"I'm sorry" the man apologized. "I love the sound of the flute". The old man walked closer to Oliver's house. He spotted Verizon.

"That's a nice flying fox you have" the man said as he smiled. Oliver looked the man up and down. He slowly walked closer to him.

He seems nice Olive thought. Verizon charged over to the man and started licking his pants.

Since Verizon trusts him I should trust him.

"I'm Oliver King" he introduced himself with a small bow and a smile.

"I've heard about you. Many Evergreeners say you are fun to be around and you seem like a nice kid" the man said.

KID? Oliver asked himself.

"I'm Bruce Lance" Bruce bowed just as Oliver had done. "Can I stay with you for one night. I'm just a visitor and I seem to have gotten lost Evergreen" Bruce explained.

"Okay" Oliver replied and shook hands with the man.

"Let me get my Daughter" Bruce added. Bruce slipped away before Oliver could stop him.

"Daughter?" he asked.

Moments later Bruce came back with a beautiful woman close to Oliver's age. She had long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a brown cloak just like her father.

"I wish it wasn't so hot outside" she stated. "The trees may not be shriveling up but the people surely are" she added as she looked at Oliver who still had his sweat stained shirt, burns, and other wounds and that sort of stuff.

"I didn't know I was having visitors" Oliver replied wittily. " Bye the way what's are name?" he asked the woman.

"Evelyn Lance" she answered and Oliver brought the visitors in his house and finished making dinner.
