“HOW DARE YOU LEAVE THIS CASTLE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION” Bruce shouted. Oliver and Evelyn were sitting together in two chairs and were being yelled at by Bruce. “YOU COULD”VE GOTTEN KILLED”.

“I found out my parents died” Oliver said.

“SO”

“The adventure wasn’t worthless” he responded. “Evelyn and I wanted to retrieve some of my personal items”.

“Did you get any?” Bruce asked.

“Um… we got kidnapped by soldiers and forced to fight against civilians in an arena but then two nice men saved us and there joining the rebellion” Oliver explained quickly.

“They build really cool devices by using modern world technology and evergreen weapons” Evelyn added.

“THAT’S DOSEN”T MEAN I’M LETTING YOU OFF EASY. Oliver, I’m taking you out of the rescue mission and you’ll have to be a black smith for us” Bruce ordered.

“I hate being a black smith. I suck at it to” he protested.

“This isn’t fair. Just have Dylan and Brian be blacksmiths and just please let this whole thing go. We got out alive and that’s all that matters” Evelyn persuaded.

“FINE... but this is your LAST chance” Bruce hissed and stormed away.

“We did it” Oliver cheered. Bruce returned.

“You’ll still have to train with John again” he added before stomping away again.

“CRAP!” Oliver groaned.

“I told you we should’ve talked to me dad” Evelyn hissed.

“Sorry”. She pursed her lips but didn’t hit him.

That day Dylan and Brian were appointed head Blacksmiths and were redesigning all the warrior’s suits.

Oliver and Evelyn walked slowly to John’s workout torture room. Oliver had a tank top, sweat pants, gloves, and sneakers to prepare for the physical activities. Evelyn dressed in gold leggings with leaf patters, a blue t-shirt, black jacket, brown boots.

John was waiting for them in his gray armor and eye patch.

“Come back for more?” he teased. A metal construct with two pairs of iron grips stood beside him. “You two will each hang on a pair of these grips for six hours”. He pulled up a chair and a beer bottle.

The pair walked reluctantly to the grips and set themselves up, and hung. They hung in silence.

At one point Evelyn’s hands slipped a little but she saved herself from falling.

John watched them while drinking cold, refreshing… Oliver shook himself out of this thought.

Four hours were up. Both of them were determined to finish. Sweat drowned his forehead but he ignored it.

“After I get down from here John, you better RUN” Evelyn hissed. John laughed too loudly.

“Like a little tiny girl could take me. You’re smaller than most of the people in this castle, including all of the teenagers here” John exclaimed. “What chance do you have at surviving in a war?”

“Being small could be an advantage” Oliver snapped.

“Ollie, I got this” she said. “Nothing you can say to me is ever going to bring me down, because I’ve heard it all. I’ve been told that I should just become a regular nurse or something like the other women, except I won’t do that. I stand up and fight for my beliefs” she said calmly to John.
