Oliver dashed up a steep ramp with Evelyn and arrived at a boxing bag hanging over a huge pool. He grabbed Evelyn and clutched to the bag and swung across the water. He threw Evelyn over to the landing platform and landed on his knees beside her.

Kyle was leading the way with Sean right behind him. Oliver and Evelyn clutched hands as they ran along a straight platform with wood chunks being fired at them. The wood exploded into powder when they landed.

Oliver separated from Evelyn to dodge an incoming projectile and ran as fast as he good. Evelyn threw a large wood shard at one that was flying through the air. She hit her target and leapt with joy.

Oliver grabbed her and pulled her out of the path of a particularly big chunk and they watched Stephen get nailed by two at a time.

Oliver reached the next part of the obstacle course which was to jump from one wet platform to another over a large, fast flowing pool.

Oliver and Evelyn separated for this obstacle but still kept close together.

“You may now sabotage each other” Bruce shouted over a megaphone.

Peter cursed as he slipped off a platform. Brook kicked water in his face when he was trying to climb back up.

Suddenly Evelyn fell. Oliver saw Stephen pulling her leg as he waded in the water. Oliver grabbed Evelyn’s hands quickly and pulled her out of Stephen’s grip. Oliver leapt onto the next platform and fell, face flat. Evelyn pulled him to his feet and staggered on her feet before Oliver grabbed her and held her still.

James was trying to swim to the other side and was doing a pretty good job. He fought hard against the current and avoided being carried away.

Oliver jumped onto the next two platforms successfully. Evelyn fell on the next one but he caught her and threw her to the next platform. She hopped up onto her feet and greeted him as he stood next to her on that platform. Evelyn kicked Ian out of the air before he tackled Oliver.

“Thanks” he muttered. Evelyn whipped her head the opposite way and her wet hair flew and hit her face. They reached the ending platform and raced alongside each other.

They found a long raceway with several holes. He had no idea what they did but they raced along the path. Suddenly a strange red light glowed in the hole behind Evelyn. Oliver grabbed her, tucked her under him, and shielded her against a blast of fire. Oliver cursed as he realized the back of his shirt was singed.

They past that path soon and found a humongous climbing wall with a platform in level with it. Oliver spotted Kyle on the wall. Evelyn climbed the wall with unnatural speed. She looked like a squirrel. Oliver followed her and was ripping some of the supports out of the wall. He threw them at the contestants below him or above him.

Evelyn passed Kyle and kicked him. He fell a long way before grabbing the wall again.  Oliver and Evelyn raced along the platform together and entered a pit shaped like a turtle’s shell that moved and rotated. Several large steel balls rolled inside the pit.

Oliver entered the pit and threw one of the balls out. Then he winced as one crushed his toes. He threw that one out as well and was very relieved when he got out of the pit.

Peter raced past him surprisingly. Evelyn raced towards him and ran beside him. Oliver raced on his other side. Evelyn hooked her foot under Peter’s and tripped him.

“No more sabotage” Bruce yelled.

Oliver and Evelyn hopped onto the next obstacle, spinning monkey bars. Oliver was surprisingly good at this challenge but not as good as Brook. The spinning factor didn’t seem to have an effect on her. She passed Oliver soon and raced onto the next challenge.

Evelyn and Oliver followed her a minute later. The next challenge was to get past over twenty guards and get through the slide. Brook was still fighting them. Her hand to hand combat skills were really terrible.

Evelyn cartwheeled and kicked a man in the face before Oliver took him down with two punches. Evelyn jumped, flipped, and kicked two men in the face and then threw a man with her legs as she leapt up.

Oliver used a man as a club. He created enough space for him and Evelyn to jump through the slide. They arrived at a large platform on water with water blasts shooting out of different pockets in the bottom. Water blasts also came out threw a wall on their left.

Brook was hit by a blast which allowed Oliver and Evelyn to pull ahead. Sean and James were catching up to them.

Evelyn fell as a water blast hit her right leg. Oliver helped her up and they raced on ahead. Oliver was hit by a water blast but Evelyn grabbed his shirt’s collar. She stopped him from flying away.

James raced past them and jumped over a water blast.

“Sabotage is allowed” Bruce yelled. Oliver chased after James clumsily. Evelyn caught up with them but Ian grabbed her and was holding her like a hostage. She stomped on his foot and elbowed him in the face.

“Sorry” she said as Oliver grabbed her hand and pulled her along right before a water blast hit her. They raced onto the next obstacle which was a long wooden board with an explosive floor and explosive projectiles being fire at them.

Oliver was blown away by the force of an explosion and was separated from Evelyn. Henry flew into Oliver just as he stood back up. Oliver pushed Oliver off of him and raced towards Evelyn. Oliver grabbed her hand and they dashed along the board.

They ducked a flying object that struck Stephen in the knee.

Oliver threw Evelyn as hard as he could and watched her fly across the board. He thought it was better that she wait for him at the end.

He stood next to her quickly and the pair raced along to a pool with balance beams. Evelyn smiled and started doing cartwheels and other gymnastic moves and by passed the obstacle. Oliver didn’t know how to swim so he walked on the beams.

It took a lot more concentration then he thought it would. He fell into the water over ten times before he reached the end.

Evelyn and Oliver raced on and so the finish line at the end of a long raceway with no obstacles.

The only person ahead of them was peter. He was a slow runner and Oliver and Evelyn passed him. Brook was running faster than a cheetah and was a couple feet behind Evelyn who was an inch behind Oliver.

Sean took off one of his shoes and threw it at brook. It hit her leg and she crumbled over.

Kyle knocked Ian out of his way and threw Stephen behind him.

James and William ran neck and neck onto Sean threw his other shoe at William.

Evelyn cartwheeled and threw Oliver across the finish line before hopping over it herself.

Oliver hugged her and she hugged him back.

Sean cleared the line next and shook hands with Oliver. Evelyn hugged him.

“That was so much fun” she cheered. Oliver couldn’t stop smiling until he realized that they won a spot on a deadly mission that could get them killed.

“Guess were mission partners” Sean said. “Don’t worry Oliver. We are not going to die” he added. Oliver didn’t totally believe him.

James and Kyle hopped over the line at the same time.

“That makes five” Sean said.

“Two more to go” Evelyn added.

Peter cleared the line next. He gasped for breath and wiped sweat from his forehead.

Eric was nowhere to be seen and Brook and Ian raced neck and neck.

“Come on Brook” Oliver and Evelyn screamed. “Sorry Ian” he added.

Brook pulled a centimeter ahead and backhanded him and crossed the finish line.

“We have our team” Bruce shouted and blew his whistle.

Stephen, Ian, and henry stomped over and sat far away on a bench together. Eric didn’t show for five minutes.

“Good job” Bruce congratulated. “Now follow me” he ordered with a flick of his hand.
