The day after Oliver and Evelyn arrived in big town they had arrived at their next town, Felix town, named after Felix.
The streets were busy with traveling merchants selling all their unique merchandise. Visitors from the modern world had even set up shop and were mazing Evergreen pheasants with their enhanced technology, like these objects called phones. They stopped several times for passing camels, horses, and several other domestic hoofed animals.
One of the llamas spit o Oliver after he laughed at the way it ate, but it was worth it to him.
Some of the products looked helpful for their mission but they had no money. Their snacks had been destroyed from their fight with the thugs and they couldn’t find a nice place to eat. Oliver decided he would teach Evelyn how to steal.
He pulled her aside and they were standing in a dark alleyway.
“I think it’s best if we avoid alleyways” Evelyn suggested.
“I’m going to teach you how to steal like my family did” he whispered. He pointed to a cart of pretzel bread. “That’s what we are going to steal” he announced. It still pained him to think of his family.
“I don’t need to be taught how to steal” Evelyn replied.
“Just do what I tell you” Oliver ordered. “Go up to the seller and act like you’re buying the bread. When he sees that you have no money he’ll be utterly focused on you and not the bread. I’ll take care of the rest” he explained.
Evelyn nodded in agreement. She left confidently and talked the clerk.
“The pretzel bread looks fantastic” Evelyn said.
“You got money?” the clerk asked. He had stringy, greasy, long gray hair and his face resembled a hogs.
“How much?” Evelyn asked.
“Any” the man said. Evelyn checked all her pockets and her bag and found no money. She looked around to see what Oliver was up to but couldn’t see him anywhere.
“I’m… I’m sorry but I don’t have any money” Evelyn replied.
“So you want the pretzel bread for free” the clerk hissed. She nodded.
“That’s stealing you (naughty word)” he grabbed her hair and pulled. She didn’t fight back because soldiers would show up and throw her in jail for learning how to fight.
Sweat started to gather on her head. The clerk pulled out a huge saw.
“I’m gonna give you a makeover princess” he said.
A couple minutes earlier when Evelyn left to talk to the clerk Oliver snuck into another dark alley. He snuck up on an armored knight and knocked him out with his hammer. He put on the knights armor over his clothes and took his sword.
He found the clerk holding Evelyn’s hair and hissing at her. He pulled out a gigantic saw and Oliver dashed to the spot. He grabbed the clerk’s hand.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Oliver asked. “Do you have any authority to assault this civilian?”
“She wasn’t going to pay me” he hissed.
“Let her go and scram” Oliver demanded with his knightly power. The clerk gathered his supplies while mumbling harshly.
“Stupid you knights always help the pretty ones” he snapped. Oliver snatched the pretzel bread and retreaded with his best friend.
