Oliver shifted away uncomfortably from Evelyn.
“You can’t expect me to make a decision like this in two seconds” Oliver snapped at Evelyn.
She gasped and stared back at him crossly.
“I didn’t mean to tell you” Evelyn yelled. “You asked me too many questions and it slipped” she added. Her blue eyes flared with fury and Oliver reflected the stare back.
Bruce lance came striding into the room.
“What is going on?” he asked. He was wearing normal clothes (unlike Evelyn).
“She gave away the rebellion secret” Oliver snitched as he pointed to her.
“You made me!” Evelyn hissed.
Bruce looked crossly down at Evelyn.
“I am ashamed” he said softly.
“I’m sorry” Evelyn muttered as she looked down at the floor. Tears slowly fell down her cheeks.
“You didn’t have to make her cry” Oliver snapped at Bruce. “You should be ashamed” he added as he did the shame gesture with his fingers.
Evelyn slapped his hands and stared up at her dad. No tears.
“You failed your third assignment you have ever been given by the council” Bruce said. “One more and I have to kick you out of the army and into the kitchen or hospital” he yelled.
“What’s the council?” Oliver asked. The other two ignored him.
“This was the third time you have told your guest too early” Bruce added, which would answer Oliver’s next question.
“I have to demote you down to an apprentice rank again. You will get to be Oliver’s partner. You will get to help train him and asses him but you will have to take the training all over again” Bruce decided.
“But I already know how to use a sword and I have superior martial arts and hand to hand combat training and that’s as far as the council will let me train… they certainly wouldn’t approve of me having a partner” Evelyn pointed out.
“You will train as a new male member. You will go through the weapon selection and you will go on the training courses” Bruce explained.
Evelyn’s eyes lit up.
“I thought I was supposed to be demoted” Evelyn said.
“You won’t get to go on any missions until you and Oliver trained. So no more leaving the heart” Bruce answered and left the room.
Evelyn slowly turned and faced Oliver.
“I’m so excited! Now I can live up to my true potential” Evelyn cheered as she jumped up and down.
“So what is the center and did Bruce just sing me up for the revolution?” Oliver asked.
“The center is the castle and it’s boundaries which I will show you and yes, yes he did” Evelyn answered.
“Well I would ‘eve said yes anyway” Oliver replied. Suddenly Evelyn’s expression changed room pure happiness to pure rage. It was like the most dangerous animal in the world wanted revenge for someone killing their babies or something like that.
Evelyn punched Oliver right in the jaw ad he stumbled backwards.
“What the Heck was that for?” Oliver asked.
“That was for being a jerk and getting my dad angry with me. You could’ve told him something else but instead you were eager to give me the blame” she yelled, and then she hugged him.
