“I’m not looking” Oliver whispered, Evelyn kneelt by his side.

“I wouldn’t either” she said sympathetically. She grabbed his hand and laid er head on his big shoulder.

“I think he knows. Luther knows I left the town. He knows I found the rebellion. He knows we came back, and now he probably killed my parents” Oliver wined.

“This is why the rebellion formed. So Evergreeners would no longer cry by the side of their parents coffins, before their parents even became grandparents” she stated.

“I want to know who’s in there, but I can’t look” he admitted.

“I’ll look for you” Evelyn offered. “First we have to find our supplies though. I’ll get them while you sit there and relax”.

“No. I’m helping you” he insisted. He ripped the pillowcase off his only pillow and stuffed some of his favorite possessions like his flute, a deck of cards, and out of the corner of his eye he spotted his mother’s ring.

More tears flowed down his face as he put the ring in his bag. Evelyn handed him some supplies and he turned around while Evelyn crept to the coffins.

The lids burst off and sent Evelyn flying across the room. Two Evergreen soldiers stood up pushed dead bodies off of them

“My parents” Oliver gasped as he ran to support his dead parents. His eyes were flooded his water and so was his face. He whipped them off and swung at the soldiers.

They dodged and knocked him aside. He landed beside Evelyn.

The pair hopped up and stood in a fighting stance. One of the soldiers pulled out a yellow vile and threw it at Oliver and Evelyn. He smashed it with his hammer revealing yellow dust. The dust circled up their bodies and caused every muscle to go numb so they couldn’t move. They collapsed on the floor and were dragged away by the soldiers.

They got several scrapes along their backs from the stones jutting threw their clothes and into their skin. Their arms were sore beyond belief after the soldiers dragged them for hours until they reached a massive coliseum

Oliver was regaining feeling in his mouth. “What’s going to happen to us?” he asked.

“I haven’t the slightest idea. Just hope for everything to be alright” she whispered. His heart felt empty. His parents were both dead. He didn’t know where his brother was either. His closest friend or family left was Evelyn.
