Prince Hercules was chain up in the Evergreen castle prison. His close were tattered and he was have starved. His curly golden hair fell over his face and no light shined in the cell. His father, King Luther, put him in the prison because he started speaking in the favor of the rebellion. Now he really liked the rebellion.
He heard a key scrapping against the metal lock and his sister, Princess Ariella, walked in. She wore her dark red and gold gown. She had long dark brown hair and amber eyes. She carried a platter with bread, eggs, and juice. She unchained him and helped him onto his feet.
“Thank you” he gasped.
“I can’t believe father put you in here” the princess whined.
“It’s okay” Hercules said. “I’ll get out of here soon. I know mother’s trying hard to reason with Luther” he added. “You better leave”.
“I can’t leave you” she hissed.
“Leave” he ordered. She left reluctantly and shut him back into darkness. She would also be jailed if she was caught helping the Prince.
Meanwhile, the King and Queen were having a heated discussion about the prince’s fate.
“The rest of the residents here in the castle will get suspicious and mad if they find out or Prince is in jail” Queen Ira hissed. “They won’t trust us” she added. Her graying hair was tied in a bun and she wore a black gown.
“The only person they won’t trust will be the Prince, and they will never find him” King Luther snarled. He also had graying hair and always wore black armor.
“Can we let him out soon?” Ira asked.
“Only when he must attend meetings or public speaking” King Luther replied with a menacing stare. Now he looked worried.
“What’s wrong?” Ira asked.
“We can’t let Prince Hercules become King” Luther said. “He will end the plans my ancestors have tried so hard to fight for. The Prince must be killed sometime and we must be alive to choose a man to marry Ariella and take the throne” he added.
Princess Ariella walked past them, not wanting to take part in the argument.
“You want to kill our son” Ira shouted. “That’s despicable” she added with an angry flash in her eyes.
“It must be done. We will wait. He might come around and agree with us” the king replied.
The Queen gave him a fierce look and stormed out of the room.
“I may have to kill her as well” King Luther muttered to himself.
The next day during the King’s war council meeting Hercules was let out of his cell. Luther, Ariella, Ira, Hercules, Felix, The head maid, and several guards at the table.
“Why don’t we attack the rebellion castle full on?” one of the knights asked. “Unleash our whole army” he added.
“We don’t know how powerful their army is. Every time we send some monsters or knights no one comes back” The king explained.
“Then we need a spy” Queen Ira stated. “How about Felix” she suggested.
“I would never be trusted” Felix said as he thought about his sister.
“We need someone who would capture their hearts and easily gain their trust” the head maid said.
“Someone they would never think of hurting” Felix added.
“How about…” The king started as his eyes drifted to the beautiful young woman sitting in this room. “Ariella” he added.
Her eyes grew wide with shock. She knew she couldn’t decline without letting on her true belief. She wouldn’t want to go against her brother and accept the offer either.
“I’ll do it” she said.
