Oliver staggered against Evelyn’s shoulder.
“I told you to stay out of it” she hissed.
“Sorry” Oliver apologized.
They walked slowly across the castle and met a huge dark sinned man.
He was bald and was so muscular he looked like a monster.
“I’ll hold him” he suggested.
“Thanks” Evelyn beamed. She pushed Oliver over to the man. The man easily scooped him up.
“Oh this is embarrassing” Oliver groaned.
“Whats your name?” asked Evelyn. “I’m Evelyn and my… um… partner is Oliver” she added.
“Kyle. Is he your partner for training?” Kyle asked.
“Yes. But we haven’t trained yet. We go into the hall of weapons tomorrow” Evelyn answered.
“Have you trained yet?” she added.
“I start next week” Kyle answered.
“So do I” Evelyn replied, stunned.
“What day?” she asked.
“Monday” he answered.
“I start on Wednesday” she answered gloomily.
“How did Oliver get hurt?” Kyle asked.
“Peter cut him with an arrow” Evelyn answered.
The trio arrived at the hospital that moment and a young nurse with green eyes, red hair, and regular clothes (not the stereotype clothes).
“What happened this time?” she asked.
“Arrow slice” answered Kyle.
“Put him and a bed” the young nurse ordered. Kyle marched over and laid him gently on the bed.
“Whats your name?” Evelyn asked the nurse.
“I’m Kitsune bell” she answered.
“I just thought it would be a good idea to know your name because were starting training soon and… Oliver tends to come here a lot” Evelyn added.
Kitsune smiled and observed Oliver.
“Who hit you with the arrow?” she asked Oliver.
“Peter” Oliver answered.
“He’s a jerk” Kitsune agreed. She took out a bowl of water and some cotton and placed them on the wooden table beside her.
She unbuttoned Oliver’s shirt and start dapping water on the wound.
It stung. Oliver clenched his fists and teeth and Kitsune worked on his wound.
“So Whats the hall of weapons?” he asked Evelyn.
“You’ll see tomorrow” Evelyn answered.
The next day nurse Kitsune had given Oliver clean clothes, and they were pretty fancy to.
He slept in the hospital again the last night. He dressed, brushed his hair and teeth, and then left the hospital.
He searched for Evelyn. Verizon flew be is side. While he looked for Evelyn he observed the castle a bit more. There was a hall with pictures of a lot of animals he hadn’t seen before. The portrait also contained the animal’s name. Some of the animals were blossom bats, sea horses (green, scaly horses with fish tails and gills), and lion mice.
Some of the animal’s pictures scared him so he quickly walked past the hall.
Soon he found a hall with many doors. He assumed it must have been a hall with rooms. Each door had a name on.
He heard a clamor of noise from one room and sure enough… it was Evelyn’s.
Her door handle was pulled from the door.
He burst inside to see her fighting for her life against five king soldiers. One of them was holding a black stick that held electricity.
Oliver found the door handle and whacked one of the soldiers with it. The soldier turned to face him. Unfortunately he was holding a sword and an axe.
He was about to swing them when Verizon flew at his face and bit, tore, scratched, and pummeled his face.
Evelyn was using her sword. She kicked an enemy behind her in the stomach, then kicked the one in front of her in the face and brought her foot down again, kicking his head.
“Get back Oliver” she hissed. She parried a sword as she said this and back handed the user in the cheek. Next she brought her sword through his neck.
Oliver winced even though he wasn’t hurt.
Verizon threw herself on top of another soldier and killed him too.
She’s a beast Oliver thought. Then he dodged the electric stick and grabbed a fallen knife and stabbed the soldier threw the heart.
“Oh snap” he muttered.
Evelyn spun around, parrying to more blows and sliced threw a soldiers stomach.
Only one left. The soldier crashed through the window. That didn’t stop Evelyn. She grabbed the soldier before he was airborne and snapped his neck.
She looked at Oliver’s blood covered knife and gave an approving knife.
“How often do those guards attack here?” he asked.
“They never have” Evelyn muttered. Er eyes were wide with freight. She blinked and then the fright was gone.
“Let us go to the hall of weapons” Evelyn said and walked out of the room.
Several minutes later the pair got to the hall of weapons. Verizon wasn’t allowed.
Evelyn was wearing a simple gray shirt, jeans, and black fingerless gloves and had her hair in a ponytail.
“We must each choose a weapon from each of the classes. The first class is the bow class where we have to choose blow darts, crossbow, or a regular bow and we will have to choose whatever ammo comes along with them. We must each choose a sword and some sort of dagger or short blade. Heavy blunts which are hammers, mallets, maces, and stuff like that we each need one of. We also need a weapon from the spear category, rope category, staff, axe, and shield” Evelyn explained.
“There is also a break in the hall which leads to the weapons that do not fall in one of those categories. Those weapons you teach yourself or find someone to give you personal lessons. I did that with war fans” she added.
“With what?” Oliver asked.
She ignored him.
“Let’s start looking” Evelyn announced.
