Chapter #5

"I'll see you guys tomorrow, so I don't get why you have to follow me," Toby sighed as he looked up at the other teenagers who grinned down at him, Jackie also ruffling his hair.
"Tobias, do you really think that we'd leave you to yourself? What kind of friends would we be if we did that?" Adam asked and Toby grunted as the jock slung his arm around his shoulders, nearly knocking him to the ground.
"You can really be a dumb blonde sometimes, ya know that?" he growled and Adam pouted.
"You wound me! I have been betrayed by my own comrade!" he dramatically shouted and Toby rolled his eyes.
"Are you sure you don't want to be in the next school play? You've got enough drama in your system to get the lead role," he said and Adam stuck his tongue out at the shorter boy.
"Toby, Toby, Toby!"
Toby yelped as he was tackled to the ground by two shorter brunettes who came running out of a blue painted house.
"Hey there, you two. Were you good today?" he asked the twins who nodded their heads and grinned down at their brother.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow, I've got to get these two munchkins home," Toby said as he stood up with the twins held tightly in his arms.

"But Toby, we don't wanna go to bed," the twins whined in unison and Toby sighed as he sat down on a chair that he had put between their beds.
"You sure?" he asked and the twins nodded their heads.
"Even if I...sing you a song?" he asked as he quirked and eyebrow, grinning as the twins eyes widened.
"Will you really?" Lucas asked and Toby nodded his head.
The two boys grinned and snuggled under their covers as they looked over at Toby who chuckled at them.
"Alright, what do you want to hear tonight?" he asked and they thought for a moment before shouting in unison, "Everything's Alright!"
Their personal favorite, of course.
Toby cleared his throat and leaned back in his chair.
"Short steps, deep breath

Everything is alright
Chin up, I can't
Step into the spotlight
She said, "I'm sad,"
Somehow without any words
I just stood there
Searching for an answer

Toby softly smiled when he saw the twins' eyes shut and heard their breathing soften.
"Success," he quietly whispered to himself as he walked over and tucked the twins in under the covers before walking out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
The teen head down the hall to his room and quickly changed into a pair of grey sweat pants and an over-sized black t-shirt.
He yawned as he stretched his arms over his head and slipped under the Steven Universe covers on his bed that was placed in the corner of his room, beside the window.
Just as his eyes began to close, they quickly snapped open when he heard the sound of the stairs creaking.
Toby reached under his bed and slowly pulled out his baseball bat.
His mom wasn't supposed to be home until 3 in the morning, and it was only 10 at night.
"Shit..." he hissed as he swung his legs over the side of his bed and crept towards his bedroom door.
He slowly pulled it open and slid out into the hallway, tightly gripping the baseball bat in both hands as he made his way towards the twins' room.
When he noticed that the door was cracked open, he burst in and gasped when he saw the familiar figure perched on top of the dresser in the corner of the room.
He quickly looked over at the twins when he heard Luca call out to him from his bed where he was tightly hugging his stuffed giraffe to his chest.
"Come over here, quick," he whispered and the two younger boys climbed out of their beds and ran over to their brother, hiding behind him and clinging to each other.
"Get out of this house and stay away from us," he hissed as he glared at the man who was now walking towards him.
"It's been a while, hasn't it, Toby?" Masky asked and Toby grunted as he swung the bat, gasping when he saw Masky grab it right before it his his face.
The brunette yelped when he was suddenly slammed against the wall and the bat was shoved against his throat, pinning him to the wall.
He looked over at the twins and tried to give them a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, it doesn't hurt. I'm fine," he said and the two boys screamed when Masky looked over at them, his icy blue eyes shining in the light.
"Hey! Leave them alone!" he shouted as he lifted one of his legs up and kicked Masky away from him, letting out a dry laugh when the young man fell onto his ass after stumbling.
"Now, go away and don't come back. I don't want to see your face around here again," Toby growled and Masky slowly stood up, slamming himself into the younger male and pinning him against the wall.
"What makes you think you can talk to me like that?" he asked and Toby narrowed his eyes.
"I don't think you understand what I intended to do by leaving. I left because of YOU! YOU WERE THE ONE ALWAYS JUDGING ME FOR EVERYTHING. I COULDN'T DO ONE THING RIGHT WHEN I WAS AROUND YOU AND YOU LIKED IT. YOU LIKED THE THOUGHT OF ME NOT BEING ABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT YOUR HELP, YOU SELFISH PIG! I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO TALK TO YOU LIKE THIS NOW!" he shouted as he punched Masky in the gut and kicked his legs out from under him.
"I'm not a child, you stupid fucker," he growled and cracked his neck as he dragged Masky downstairs and threw him outside.
"You can go suck a dick, Tim. But it won't be mine," the teen said before slamming the door shut and locking it.
