After that one last night together, Toby didn't see Masky again until nearly two years later.
He continued working until he resorted to stealing from his victims' houses, eventually becoming nearly as popular with the news as Jeff.
He somehow managed to stay himself, upbeat, slightly annoying, the usual things. But sometimes, even the slightest smile can hide the darkest things...

Toby laughed as LJ's nose bent from the force of the book hitting him in the face.
"SAY ONE MORE THING, I DARE YOU!" Jeff shouted at the clown who was trying to fix his nose.
"NEXT TIME, I'LL RIP THAT THING OFF AND BURY IT IN THE FOREST!"
Jeff then stomped upstairs and left LJ and Toby in the game room.
"Looks like somebody isn't getting any tonight," the brunette said with a giggle and LJ pouted as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well you haven't gotten any in nearly a year, I got some just last night, for your information," he grumbled.
Toby huffed and glared at LJ who returned the look while still fixing his nose.
Eventually getting fed up with the staring contest, Toby got up and left the room, going outside to the back yard where Sally and BEN where running around.
"Yo, Toby! You wanna play Tag?" BEN shouted and Toby shook his head as he walked into the dark forest surrounding the mansion.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and began looking through pictures.
A lot a them were of him with Adam, Kyle, and Jackie after school or at the park or at McDonald's.
He came across a picture that made his burst out laughing. It was when Adam had gotten himself stuck in the slide in the McDonald'a play area and Jackie and Kyle had to climb up to where he was and shove him the rest of the way down the slide.
His laughs died down when he came across completely different pictures, ones of him and Masky.
A smile was the only thing that he could manage to give before he let out a choked sob as tears began welling up in his eyes.
He had never forgiven Jane, he knew it was her fault that Masky had to leave. Everyone knew it was her fault and there wasn't a single doubtful thought anywhere.
"Dammit," he hissed as he leaned against one of the trees for support.
There was a snap from behind him and he quickly whirled around to see Sam standing about five feet in front of him, a broken twig held in his hands.
"Shouldn't you be at work?" the boy asked as he walked towards the brunette.
"I don't have work anymore, remember? I quit last week," Toby replied, pushing off of the tree and shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
"By 'quit', I'm assuming that you mean 'killed the employees', yes?" Sam said with a chuckle.
Toby rolled his eyes and looked up at the dark sky dotted with stars.
"How long has it been now? A year?"
"Nearly that. But...I don't think it matters anymore."
Sam gave his friend a confused look. "What do you mean? Don't you love him?"
"Love's a very strong word, Sammy. You can't just go throwing it out there whenever you please... That's exactly what I did. You know, I might've stopped him from being able to actually fall in love with someone who he enjoyed being around."
"Didn't he enjoy being around you?"
"Probably not. I mean, the only thing I ever did before we got together was annoy him and cause trouble. He probably thought that I was just using him, which is why he hasn't even tried to contact me since he left. He could've had a happy life with someone other than me, someone who isn't a complete idiot that didn't even give the relationship a second thought and wonder if it was going to work out. He didn't need... H-He didn't need someone like me."
Sam stared at Toby, his eyes wide in shock. That was...unexpected.
"I thought that things were okay between the two of you..." was all that he was able to mutter.
"Well, they weren't," Toby snapped. "They never really were. He'd be gone on missions all the time, I'd be running around doing the dumb shit that I've always done... We just--We just weren't compatible with each other. But I'll be damned if anyone ever says that I didn't love him, because I did. I always did."
Sam sighed and was finally able to say something. "You and your love interests, I've never understood them. Never really understood love either. But I do know enough to say that people fall in love every day and most of the time, it doesn't work out. Looking at you when you used to talk about him, anyone could've seen that what you had for him was strong. Passionate. When you first came to me asking for help, I could tell that you were genuinely worried about him. Plus, by the way you talked about him, he clearly needed someone like you in his life. He kinda sounded like a stuck-up prude."
Toby let out a small laugh as he sat down on the leaf covered ground then realized; it always seemed to be Fall in the forest now.
"If you miss him so much, why don't you go after him?" Sam asked and Toby gave him a sad smile.
"If you love something, let it go," he quietly replied.

Days passed, then months, and Masky never returned. Toby never changed. He didn't really see a reason to do so.
He had stopped pestering Slendy about it and decided that if he was ever going to move on, he needed to stop worrying about the older man and focus on his life and those who were actually in it. Like now.
"You got flour everywhere!" Sally squealed as she looked at all of the flour covering nearly everything in the kitchen.
"This is why we don't let Toby bake. At all," Zero said as she brushed flour off of the front of her shirt.
"This never happens when I make waffles..." Toby muttered and Zero glared at him.
"That's because you use EGGO WAFFLES, IDIOT! I DON'T HAVE TO MIX THE FUCKING INGREDIENTS TOGETHER, FUCKASS!" she shouted and Toby snickered.
"You learned that word from BEN, didn't you?" he managed, holding in his full laughter.
The woman's mouth opened and closed, as if she couldn't find the words to say until she finally shouted, "FUCK OFF!"
She then turned and left the kitchen, leaving the other two to clean up the mess that was left.
"Sooo, you sweep I mop?" Toby asked as he turned to Sally who nodded her head and hopped off of the stool she had been standing on.
It took them a mere fifteen minutes to clear the entire kitchen of flour, which had gone into any and every nook and cranny possible.
They then headed out into the living room where they stayed until Toby had to go out for the night and hunt down more victims.

The cold air blew around him as he stood in the tree, out of sight from the rest of the world.
Fresh and dried blood was splattered on his clothes, making some of it stick to his skin.
He hair blew into his eyes, having been released from under his hat and hood.
In his hand was a small object that he had taken from the house. A picture. A picture of two children, Lucas and Luca.
The glass over the picture was dotted with blood and rain. It had been raining for the past five minutes.
Images flashed through Toby's mind, images of Lucas and Luca trying to run away from him as he cornered them, hatchets drawn at his sides. It was in vain.
Images of the two young boys viciously slaughtered on the blood covered floor.
Then, his mother. The look on her face was one of pour horror when she saw the scene.
She had to go too, of course.
Oh, how wonderful it was to finally be able to get rid of the woman who never listened!
Toby let out a sigh as he sat down on the branch, his Converse scraping against the bark.

"Come on skinny love just last the year...
Pour a little salt we were never here...
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my...
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer..."

Toby swung his legs back and forth as he continued to quietly sing, his voice echoing around him.
"Toby, get down here!" Clocky shouted up at the younger boy who grinned down at her and climbed down, showing her the picture.
"These your brothers?" she asked as they walked back home. Toby nodded his head.
"The one with the big grin was Lucas and the one who looks like he would rather be somewhere else was Luca."
"Was? You killed them?" Clocky asked, her face a sign of disbelief.
"Yep, my mom too. She saw everything," Toby replied, the smile on his face unwavering.
The older woman chuckled as she shook her head, slipping an arm around Toby's shoulders while she talked to him about what he planned to do next.

Toby's final thought before slipping into be that night, was one that would stick with him for a good amount of time.
If you love someone, you gotta let 'em go. There's no stopping them. There's no forgetting them, either, that's for sure. You've just gotta keep moving forward.
With that in mind, he slipped into a dreamless sleep.
