Chapter 23
Friday March 4th
Yesterday while getting everything ready for tonight’s party with Jake we’d coordinated how today will play out. I’d go to school for the first two classes and Jake would come sign me out, like last time, mainly for me to fix things around my house so that I can chill with him on the weekend. And when I was finished with the house I was to call Jenna and Alyssa so that they’d come over and we’d car pull to the party in Maryland.
Yesterday me and Jake also talked about what happened between me and John, he knows I’m not over him because he didn’t fall for the smirk and when I insisted on denying he told me to shut up because he didn’t want me lying to him. So yea, he knows. But he’s the only one. I found out the girl he brought, Melissa, was his ex and they’d been hanging around so that he could get her to invite her friends to the party. I also found out she broke his heart, that’s why Jenna hates her. He doesn’t know how Jenna found out though, but I was surprised when she didn’t tell me any of that, I didn’t even know he had a girl.
After showering I put on my undies, skinny jeans that were not too tight, and a black shirt with LOL written on it. Then, I put on fresh white sneakers and my black and white ML Varsity jacket along with a small necklace. I dumped my important stuff into my black Juicy Couture bag and headed out the door.
I got in my car and went to Starbucks, yes I had a long night because once again I came back late from Maryland. I also explained to Jake what happened when I got lost there. He reacted the way I had expected, he laughed. And I was glad he did because I didn’t want him to feel bad for me. But when the laughter subsided he was a little mad I’d gotten lost and was un-careful.
I finally get to school and since I’m early enough I was able to park in my old spot. I was waiting for the freshman to come around so that I could explain but I saw Eric and I didn’t want to miss the chance to talk to him, I have been wondering if he was able to join the team.
I walked over to his car, which was next to John’s and waited for him to come out.
When he did I felt bad because he looked like hell with bruises and what not and there was a party tonight.
“Hey Eric, how you doing?” I asked after hugging him.
He grinned “I’m great. And you? How you holdin’ out?”
I laughed “I’m good. So you’re not suspended or anything?” I asked curiously.
“Well actually yea, we all got suspended. But we have to go to our homerooms to report and to pick up home assignments the principal will be giving us.”
“Wow, that sucks. What about football?” I asked as we walked towards Steven’s parking.
“Well, coach is pretty much going to punish us himself. He says we should’ve known better than to resist against, and practically fight, the guards” he chuckled “but other than that it’s all good.”
I nod and hug Steven. “Hi.”
“Hey Jess.” He hugged back. When we pulled apart he saw Eric and did that man shake thing. “Oh so Eric my mom’s kicking me out.” he said like nothing.
