Chapter 25
Jessica’s POV
March 4–Friday the Night of Jake’s Party
I pull up to the beach house feeling a little excited; big parties always played a number like this one me. Jenna was all but jumping in the back seat dying to get out and join the party while Alyssa was her cool calm and collected self. Me, I was neutral. I was pretty anxious since I’m now single and can do whatever I wanted to do—and I kinda-sorta wanted to get laid—but aside from that I had an empty feeling; like something was missing. But of course I chose to ignore it and not let the feeling ruin my night, figuring it’ll go away at some point in the party. I parked in the garage next to Jake’s car and we all got out.
“Do we leave the bags here and get’em later or…” Alyssa trailed off.
“Well, I’m taking mine upstairs you guys should do the same.” I said.
“Ahhh but it ruins our entrance!” Jenna protested.
“Entrance?”
“Yea! I mean the party has clearly already started so when we walk in people will see us…and I don't want to look like we’re moving into the place.” Jenna explained.
I laughed. “Jenna, the party is not in full swing yet. I’m taking my stuff.” I said getting out of the car and walking to the trunk. Jenna and Alyssa also came out.
“But you can hear the music and everything!” Jenna insisted.
“Then let’s just do the ‘entrance’ thing and we’ll be back when we get bored, since its ‘not in full swing yet’ and get the stuff then.” Alyssa said mixing both mine and Jenna’s solutions.
We agreed on that plan and left the garage. I closed it and we went to the front step.
The doors were unlocked of course so we just walked in. The music was very loud but just by opening the doors it got so much louder.
I looked around at the familiar house and noticed a few people dancing and a few roaming around or talking. It was surely not in full swing yet, due to lack of people, but we weren’t late either. We walk in and I wave at the girls knowing we’d all go our own ways and see each other later in the mix. I head off to the kitchen for a drink and see Jake.
“Jake!” I yell happily and jump into his arms.
He hugged me tightly around my waist “Hey Jess” he said oh so sweetly. Ok, I used to have a crush on him, but its way gone now. However, I do admit it felt good to have his strong muscular arms wrapped tightly around my small waist; it made me feel protected.
We pulled apart and I smiled at him. I went to take a look at what he was wearing but he started talking. “You look amazing Jessica.” He said, his voice coming out husky and his eyes filling with lust.
“Have you been drinking?” I wondered out loud.
He looked confused “Jessica, come on I can’t give you a compliment now?” he said in the same husky voice. It was a hot voice to hear but I was too sober to do anything with him.
