"I see you tomorrow then. Love you"
"Love you too" emma put her phone away and went to her room
Regina went to check on Violet and Henry for the last time that night. "How are you doing?" she asked softly after a knock on the door and made her way in, toward the bed
"A little better" Violet said under Henry's arm with him already sleeping
"Well that's good, do you think you're well enough to come for dinner at Emma's apartment tomorrow?"
"Maybe. I'll tell you how I'm feeling tomorrow"
"Okay, try to sleep well." she said and closed the door turning every light off on her way. She went to bed and read the encore of her book
Emma layed in bed curled up trying to fall asleep
Regina put the book away and closed the eyes, maybe bit too aware that this night was not going to be easy, and propably quite sleepless
Emma curled into a ball, missing Regina beside her. Worried that she would wake up with him or in his ship
Regina just tossed and turned her whole night, one time she thought she could get some sleep she only drifter to sleep to wake up with a nightmare, leaving her heart hammering in her chest and herself trying to breath
Emma got a few minutes of sleep but was scared to let herself completely fall asleep alone again
Regina tried to calm herself ftom the dream, they had always been her weakness, leaving her feel so vunerable. She got out, pulled her robe and walked downstairs
The house was quiet and no one was awake yet. Emma layed in bed a while longer before getting up and making coffee
Regina put the coffee running, drinking cold water as she did. She walked outside to her backyard to sip her coffee
It was quite cool outside but no clouds in the sky. Emma sat on the couch drinking her coffee
Regina sat there, her mind bit of a mess at the moment. She sat on the bench under her apple tree. The cool air was biting her bare skin, toes, hands, neck
Emma curled up into a ball on her couch and let out a sigh.
Regina tried to thinknof her and Emma's good times, not all the bad times, she felt like suffocating
Emma grabbed her phone off the table to text Regina wondering if she was awake "hey Regina, awake?"
Regina didn't have her phone outside so she didn't answer right away. She went in when the cool air felt more like cold on her skin and made her tremble lightly she washed her cup and went upstairs to find a text from Emma. "Yes" she answered softly
"I miss you" emma texted back as soon as her phone went off
"I miss you too" Regina curled under her covers trying to warm herself
"How was your sleep? "
Regina did not want to worry Emma. "Not as good than beside you. How was yours?"
"Fine" emma said although she almost had a couple panic attacks
"Is it okay if I come over for a hour or so, like now?" she needed to see Emma
"Yes of course" Emma got up and put her robe on and put her messy hair into a ponytail
Regina calmed herself, not wanting to be a total wreck when she saw her. She magiced herself in Emma's bedroom, still in her robe her hair on a loose braid.
"Hey" emma said quietly and put her arms around Regina hugging her tight
"Hi" she said face already burried on Emma's neck as she hold her tight. She was clad the both had robes as she was still cold
Emma kissed the side of her neck resting her head on her shoulder not wanting to let go
Regina softly rubbed Emma's back holding her close, it felt like it this embrase would stop she would get lost again
Emma held onto her tightly and sat them on the bed. She felt like if Regina let go she would break down
Regina moved to sat on Emma's lap so she could homd her closer.
"I love you" emma whispered softly to her ear
"I love you too" she said against Emma's neck
"I didn't sleep well" emma admitted
Regina lifted her to look at Emma. "Scared?" she asjed softly
Emma nodded and sighed
"Do you want to try and sleep a bit" she said brushing few golden locks that had escaped her ponytail behind Emma's ear
"Maybe" emma said and rested her head against Regina's shoulder
