Waking from unconsciousness, I opened my eyes slightly and winced. There was a throbbing in my head. I reached out to touch the back of my head and groaned. I wouldn't be surprised if there was blood.

I opened my eyes fully and looked around at my surroundings as everything came back to me. I was looking for other vampire when I stepped into this trap. Way to go, Kate.

I swung back and fourth to try and reach my foot. I had a pocket knife strapped to my boot.

I reached more even through it hurt and finally got the damn thing out. I quickly cut myself down and fell.

I gasped as the air was literally sucked out of me. It was a long drop, I just hope I didn't break my back.

Slowly, I stood up. The moon was out and shining brightly. The stars lit up the sky as there was a bunch of them. It must be midnight...

I shook my head and returned back to reality. I have to get home and quickly. I had school in a few hours and I didn't want to think about what just happened.

Friday. Friday was in four more days. That was the day of homecoming. So far everyone's been busy. The girls all talked about their plans for Friday while the guys, well, they talked about what they were going to do to their girls Friday. I cringed at their responses.

Kyle's been cheerful lately. I'm glad he's not angry anymore. In fact, he's been awfully getting closer to me. I wouldn't say we're friends, but I wouldn't deny it either. It's a lot more exciting when you can hang out with someone.

As of now I was just thinking about what happened last night. It was actually strange because there's hardly any slayers here except for me. So it must've been someone else. Perhaps a vampire. But why would they be setting traps? Are they trying to use our weapons against us? I had to report this to the Society immediately. They could probably help me figure out this nonsense.

"What's your plans for tonight?" I blinked coming out of my thoughts. "Hm?" I looked up to see Kyle. When did he get there? "Your plans for tonight. What are they?" My plans? "I was going to just relax." "Well clear your schedule," Kyle said while smirking, "we're going to a party." "A party? Whose?" I furrowed my brows. Nobody was talking about a party. At least nobody in the hall. "My friend from my old town. Don't worry though, you'll be fine." "Alright..." I guess I'm booked for tonight now.

What was I going to wear? Wait, why do I care? I'll just throw on some jeans and a shirt.

That's exactly what I did next. They were skinny jeans and a white blouse. It was at least presentable since it was a party I was going too.

I walked downstairs and left. My mom was out on a date with the new doctor from the hospital. I was happy for her.

Locking the door, I spotted Kyle. I walked over to him and he opened the car door for me. "Thanks." I smiled and got in. "No problem." Kyle said as he closed the door and got into the drivers seat. "How far is it?" I asked curiously. "Not far." He answered and quickly drove off.

This was sick! But in a good kind of way sick. There was red solo cups on a table, probably spiked. Both genders were dancing close, too close, to each other as the music blasted loudly in the background.

"Come on." Kyle said as he took my hand and dragged me to the kitchen. He was wearing black pants that fit just right and a white dress shirt. We kind of matched in a weird way.

"Why are we here?" I asked as I looked over at a couple that was ravishing each other. "I wanted to talk." Kyle said. "About what?" I looked at him giving my full attention to him. "Last night."
