It's been two month since the incident and now it's March. Lately me and Kyle have been even more closer. I think it's because of the whole incident that happened.
I couldn't help but stare at Kyle from the back of the class. Why can't he leave me alone? Did I do something? Why do I care? I couldn't stop these thoughts from crossing my mind. I guess you can say I've grown attached to Kyle. It's hard for me to actually have friends or even a friend.
"Now, class. Next week we're going to be studying for your Exams. Don't be late." The teacher said as the bell ranged throughout the room and halls.
The students filed out and I followed behind them. Alex and I were still friends, but hardly close. So I had two friends...? I wouldn't really count Alex as my friend because we hardly hang out anymore.
I smashed into something while deep in my thoughts. "Sorry," I mumbled while looking at the floor. I didn't have time to see who it was.
Putting my books in my locker, Kyle made his way to me. "Why did you ignore me, Kate?" Kyle asked while frowning. Was it Kyle I ran into? I got my parasol umbrella out before shutting my locked and looking up at him. "I didn't know it was you, sorry." I gave him a genuine smile as we walked out of the school.
Today we decided to walk home. It was raining out as I opened up my umbrella. Mine was small since it was a parasol, but Kyle had his own umbrella which was fine.
"Spring breaks coming up soon," Kyle said. I sighed as we walked down the sidewalk. The sky looked beautiful. "Of course." I smiled up at Kyle. "Do you have any plans?" He asked me. "Some." I said and looked down at the ground. There was a puddle in our way.
I kept looking and saw my refection. I had a glow to me. I looked to see what Kyle's refection looked like.
His reflection was dull and he had a frown on his face. "What's wrong?" I breathed out. The air had been the freshest it has been today.
"It's nothing." Kyle said and walked around the puddle. I followed behind him. I knew it was nothing. Something was bothering him. I was going to push it though.
I arrived home shortly after Kyle and I said our byes. My mom was never home anymore. Her work schedule changed. She was practically working 24/7.
My job as a slayer was becoming unbearable. I could hardly do it with Kyle always watching me, but tonight I had to.
I quickly did my homework, took a shower, then ate. Ever since that incident I could hardly find a vampire. It didn't help much when I could only kill ones ever weekend.
I put on my tennis shoes and rain coat. It was still raining out. The rain wasn't light either. It looked heavy, but that didn't stop me.
I got my stake from under my bed. I had another hand stake on me. This time I had more weapons though. I didn't want to run out. Carrying one stake was a mistake. They even taught us that at Slayer camp. I was stubborn that night, but now I can't be.
I jogged downstairs and out the front door. Locking my door behind me, I quickly ran off. I didn't want Kyle to know where I was going. He could be watching me at any minute so I had to be quick.
I ran into the cemetery that was down by the woods. There was two ways to get into the woods. Through the park, or through the cemetery.
Turning my running into a fast past, I stood at the entrance of the cemetery. This was a popular place for vampires according to legends.
I scanned the area as I walked down the path. The tombstones were old. Some were even new.
I heard talking off into the distance and quickly headed that way.
As I neared where the voices were coming from, I hid behind a large tombstone.
"It'll start when the eclipse takes place." A deep voice said. Who was it? Why during the eclipse? I wondered as I continued to eavesdrop.
"Of course. Then we can take over. There won't be a sun all day. Imagine that, son. We can have all the blood we want for a whole day." Vampires! It makes sense now. They're going to feed off the town when the eclipse comes, but that's not till May.
"All the blood, but don't touch the girl. I can dibs on her." The voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't see who it was or tell from this damn grave stone. It was seriously annoying.
"Whatever. We must summon our sisters and brothers before then. We only have two months before then." The voice said.
I must warn the Society. I thought while backing up. I stepped on something laying on the ground. It made a loud snap throughout the air. Damn, stick! "What was that?" The voice hissed and I quickly bolted.
I jumped over small tombstones and graves. Over sticks and newly dug graves.
I got out of the cemetery before anyone seen me. At least from what I thought.
Running as fast as my legs could carry me, I unlocked my door and hurried to my room.
My lungs were burning and several hundred thoughts crossed my mind. A war was going to out break.
I picked up my cell phone and dialed the Slayer Society. "How may I help you?" A high pitched voice asked. "I have important information. Connect me to the council." The girl didn't ask questions as she connected me.
Moments later I heard a bunch of voices. I must've been on speaker for everyone to hear me. "What is it, Slayer?" A voice said on the other end. It was deep and I instantly recognized it as the leader.
"This matter is urgent, Sir. I was off to hunt a few minutes ago. I went to the cemetery and overheard some voices so I went to check it out. Of course I hid behind a tombstone so they wouldn't see me." I took a breath as I rushed out the first part of information. "Go on." He said and everyone on the other end was quiet. "I overheard two vampires speaking. They were talking about how on the eclipse that they were going to feed off everyone in town. Not only that, but they're calling most of their kind over here!" I breathed out. The other end was mumbling and I couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
"I'll warn the Slayers. If it's a fight they want, then it's a fight they'll get. Train well, young Slayer. You're going to need it." With that the call ended.
I sighed and put my stakes away before falling on my bed. What are we going to do...?
