"Faster!" One of the training instructors yelled.

We were training again. I went straight home yesterday after I found out that Alex was a vampire. I've been avoiding both him and Kyle today. Now I was back at the Cabin training.

"Harder people! We only have four days left!"

I ran as fast as I could. We were running laps currently. The purpose of running was to increase our ability at being fast. Vampires were fast naturally, but since we're human we're slow. Vampire Slayers are faster than humans since it's an ability you have to learn since you start.

"Alright people! Take a 10 minute break!" Angie called.

It took me a few minutes to catch my breath.

I seen Michael hanging out by the refreshment table, so I went up to him.

"Hey, Michael." I smiled at him. It hasn't been long since I've seen him, but since he was the main training instructor here he was gone sometimes.

"Hey, Kate. How's it going?" Michael returned the smile and took a sip out of his water bottle he had.

"I just found out some information. I don't know if you knew already though." I took one of the water bottles and took a gulp of the water since my throat was dry.

"What's it about?" Michael asked, his face became serious now.

"Well, my mom's a nurse at the hospital and she says there's more people that's been attacked by "animals". Bite marks on the neck and all..." I rushed out.

Michael didn't say anything for a few minutes till I was about to say something he spoke. "I didn't know that. Thanks for informing me." He nodded at me and called out to everyone to probably inform them as well.

"Kate here has informed me that there's been more "animal" attacks. You know what that means guys. We don't have much time now. The war is right around the corner and I need all of you to give it your all." Michael said.

Most of the Slayers nodded while others cheered that we'd win. I sure hoped so.

"I'm home!" I called as I walked into my house. I just got back from training and it was 5:30 now.

"Hey, hun" Mom called from in the kitchen.

I threw my bag on the couch, I usually go straight to the Cabin after school, and slithered into the kitchen to see my mom making brownies.

"How was your day?" I asked her.

"Tiring, how about yours?" She asked as she set the pan into the oven and started the timer.

"Exhausting," I sighed and sat at the kitchen table.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She washed her hands then sat next to me.

"Not really....it's just exams and stuff." I told her. It wasn't a lie yet it also wasn't the whole truth.

"Oh, well those can be exhausting." She laughed lightly and I smiled. My mom usually was the type of person to always find a reason to smile or laugh. I envied her.

After talking more for awhile, my mom jumped when the timer went off and I laughed at her. She, of course, glared at me which made me quiet. My mom had a glare that could kill someone if they weren't already dead.
