I sat up in my bed and rubbed my eyes as the sun shone through my window. I had left my curtains and even my actual window open, it was summer, I was in Idaho, and I really couldn’t care less about leaving my window open at night.

I reached out to my bedside table and picked up my watch as I quickly glanced at the screen for the time. 9:15AM, not too bad if I may say so myself, I usually woke up at around 9:30.

I quickly got dressed in the usual shorts and T-shirt and slipped on my trainers. I didn’t really have much planned for today, I wanted to call up Matt and asked him a few questions and I wanted to organise a hunt, not sure how that’s going to turn out though, I had hoped that after last night we could all hunt and bond a bit together.

As I walked over to the main hall I realised I was pretty hungry, no change there, and I still didn’t know who the heck was up or asleep. Not knowing who was awake and up was now annoying me, it was something that had annoyed me when we started living out new lives, and even more so this morning since the girls were here as well, I always wanted to know where Chris was, I must admit I must have been annoying at the start but I had managed to calm down a bit and not be too protective over him, knowing he could shift at will helped with that.

I opened the double doors to let the fresh air get in and walked over to the storage room where I spent what seemed like ages in search of something I wanted to eat. I was stuck between fruit, cereal, chocolate bar, or pancakes.

“You chosen yet?” a voice said from behind.

“Nope... what do you want?” I replied knowing Chris was standing behind me and still half asleep from the sound of his voice.

“Granola bar and an apple” He replied as he yawned; yup still asleep.

I grabbed two chocolate granola bars and two apples, I picked up two granny smiths because I liked them and I knew Chris shared my taste when it came to fruit. Chris had made a healthy choice for his breakfast and I was wondering if it was because he was trying to be healthier because of Zoe... either way it was good to eat healthy so I didn’t care and his breakfast choice was pretty nice.

“Thanks bro.” He said as he caught the granola bar I threw at him followed by the apple.

“No problem.”

Chris went to sit down at the end of the table on the left side as you walked in nearest the doors; I sat down next to him at the head of the table.

“So, got any plans for today?” Chris said as he took a bite out of his apple.

“Why ask me?” I didn’t understand why he asked me to be honest.

“You have better ideas and you are the one in charge here if you think about it.” He relied still chewing. I simply laughed; my ideas weren’t all that good.

“Well... could arrange a hunt, chill, and I want to call up Matt quick, maybe just got for a hike.”

“As wolves or humans... the hike I mean”

“I don’t mind, we can vote on it.” I hadn’t thought that one through, but it really didn’t matter, whether we hiked as wolves or humans who cared, it would be fun anyways.

I sat up and went over to the phone, I had written Matt’s number on a piece of paper and stuck it on the wall for reference (I’m not good with remembering numbers).
