“Thanks.” I said as a pretty good looking air hostess walked away after giving me a coke. I had to say, plane trips were always fun, especially when they are long. Matt had gotten us middle class seats fully accompanied with a TV in the seat in front of us, which was on its own packed with movies and music, and did I mention the food? Oh yeah, the food, free food basically, as much as we wanted, why? Because we wouldn’t be able to have too many luxuries when we got to our new home, that’s why, however he said no first class because he didn’t want us to be too noticed.

Chris was sitting next to me and naturally I had to have the window seat, I always took the window seat in any form of transport, I hated not being able to see where the heck I was going. It was sort of like instincts really, I always wanted to know what the places I pasted looked like and which direction I was going, even if half the time I didn’t look out the window I still felt like I needed to sit next to it.

I was currently watching “I am Legend.” I loved the film, my favourite thing about it is how awesome life seems when he is alone with no one, it’s just chill... until the night comes then you have to avoid zombies, other than that it seemed pretty cool, take any movie you want, play golf by yourself, hunt deer in a cool car with a rifle, etc, you know his life seemed out of the ordinary and pretty adventure packed, I always wanted my life to be different, and now it was.

To me it sounded alright, up to the point where the one woman he meets ends up being the death of him, that is something I didn’t like the thought of, you meet a girl, and she ends up being the reason you die... not nice.  Oh and seriously, 24 hours, is all it took her to kill him... worst she stole his bacon, I wasn’t happy when I saw that, personally I don’t mind bacon, but it’s still meat, and it tastes good, and it was just rude to cook his bacon without asking him first.

Chris tapped my shoulder and I paused the film before then removing my headphones to turn round and actually pay attention to what he was going to tell me.

“Yeah?” I smiled. I couldn’t help but smile, I was happy, freedom started here.

“So... how is it going to work when we get there?” he asked curiously.

“I don’t know, Matt didn’t say anything, only it was a surprise.”

“Well, whatever he has in mind I'm sure it’s going to be good.” He smiled back and went back to watching whatever film he was watching.

I turned off my TV and turned on some random rock music, I spent the next 5 minutes flicking through some songs until I found Three Days Grace, and honestly the choice on planes was absolute crap but I didn’t mind much.

Once I turned on Three Days Grace I took my ticket out of my pocket, this wasn’t just my plane ticket, for anyone else it would be yes, but for me and Chris, these were tickets to freedom, and tickets to our new lives. It was weird really, holding these two.

I closed my eyes and drifted off again, we only had about an hour or so left in the plane so I took this as an opportunity to sleep, I was still pretty tired and I hadn’t gotten much sleep at all.

“Hey, Tilyer, wake up.”

“Huh, what? What?” I opened my eyes to find Chris shaking my lightly.

“Get up mate, we are here.” Chris had a huge smile on his face; I guess he must have decided that this was for the best.

“What time is it?”

“Well... it’s umm... I don’t know.” He replied unsure.

I simply laughed slightly; I found it rather amusing he didn’t know the time.
