Chase and Victor just stared at each other; I half expected one of them to snap and try to kill the other.
“So... who the hell are you all?” I said trying to break the silence
“Vampires” Chey smiled “Better than you mutts” She laughed
“Cheyenne that is enough” Victor turned round quickly and stared at her “You will shut your mouth and be polite, I don’t care if you know him or not, you behave and treat him with respect, I’m sure if he wanted to he would rip your head off” Victor sounded calm but at the same time angry, it was weird and intimidating, Chey nodded and stepped back next to someone... Alex
“Hey Tilyer” Alex said waving
“Fuck you” Chris said calmly to him, Alex stepped back. I felt sorry for him, Alex still seemed nice, passive, and scared, but he was caught up in something bigger than he could face.
There were six of them all together, Victor, Chey, Alex and two other girls and a guy, no idea who but I assumed vampires.
“As Chey very rudely and arrogantly pointed out, we’re vampires; your father knows a lot about me I'm sure you two can... catch up. It’s not too complicated don’t worry” He smiled
“So... why are you here?” I asked cautiously
“Well... there seems to be tension between my young vampires and you Tilyer” he said pointed to Alex and Chey “and I don’t really want to find them dead any time soon or making an enemy of this pack, somehow... I’m sure if you wanted to you could cause a lot of damage”
“Yeah I could” I said slowly
“So basically, I want a deal”
“What kind of deal” Chase interrupted
“Hey” I snapped “My pack, don’t care about your history with him, he’s knew to me and I will talk to him”
“Sorry...” Chase said looking down
“Sorry for snapping at you” I said ashamed of having snapped at my dad.
“It’s alright” he smiled back
“Can the father-son conversation continue later I want to make deal here” Victor sounded irritated
“What kind of deal?” I asked him
“I want peace” he smiled “If my vampires leave you, you leave them alone. No fighting, no bloodshed, no dead wolves or vamps, and no enemies.”
“Doesn’t mean we’re friends”
“Of course not” he laughed slightly “I wouldn’t have it any other way”
“Ok...” I said slowly looking at everyone else who nodded in agreement “Leave us alone we leave you alone, don’t step on our territory again or we will chase you, if you’re in our territory, we will hunt you down and kill you, as soon as you’re over the boundaries, we will stop chasing you. Our land, our rules”
“Sounds fair enough to us” Victor smiled “But same goes to you”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way” I smiled back “So is it a deal? Leave us alone we leave you alone, come on our land we kill you, if you retaliate or break your half of the deal we will hunt you down as well, don’t underestimate us... we killed a shape shifter who turned into a bear, he’s now in ashes somewhere” I smiled
“Then it is a deal” Victor said as he stepped forwards and held out his hand.
I stepped towards him and we shook hands.
“Goodbye Tilyer, and make sure you keep your half of the deal” he smiled as he turned away
“Could say the same to you” I said raising my voice so he heard me
“I am a man of my word” he shouted over his shoulder as he walked past his vampires. His accent made his voice stand out and seemed more powerful, don’t know why but it did.
They all followed after him without delay, all expect Chey who just stared.
“See you soon dog” she smiled and followed the others.
They all started running and I was amazed, they were fast, very fast.
“Be careful” Chase said “Victor is a man of his word but that girl isn’t”
“We know” Chris said annoyed.
I turned round and looked at everyone else.
“If he breaks the deal we kill them all” I said calmly
“More like rip them to shreds” Chase said putting a hand on my shoulder “So where do I move in?” he asked smiling trying to change the conversation.
“I’ll show you to your room” Ashley offered
“Thank you...” he paused “umm?”
“Ashley” she replied quickly “Tilyer’s mate”
“Nice to meet you Ashley” he smiled back.
The rest of the afternoon was spent showing my dad around and just generally catching up on stuff. Everyone liked my dad and we soon established him as a Delta, we had all gotten to know each other and he had told me about how he needed to leave in order to save his life and my own, apparently bad people would try to hurt me if he didn’t, somehow the story reminded me of Mark. We discussed Victor and Chase told us about how Victor had tried to turn him into his personal hit man... and failed, but he had still trained him up which seemed to have worked well because he had a pretty strong build.
We made a campfire that night and we all ate pancakes, who’d have known it was my dad’s favourite food! Guess I was a lot like him. He shifted in front of us and the similarity between us was shocking, we were almost identical, apart from on difference, my dad’s fur was slightly darker, the cream colour was mixed with greys and you could see the scars on his legs and back, guess he fought a lot to but that didn’t really surprise me, the most striking thing was the eyes, we had the same eyes.
Even if my dad had walked out on us when I was small I forgave him, he was nice, and family once more. Before heading to bed he made me a promise, that in a few years, when the time is right, he would tell me everything, but right now I’d need to wait, focus on becoming stronger, a good leader, and he promised to help with that, apparently he had a lead a pack when he was younger and he would teach me all he knew, but right now, I just enjoyed the feeling of family and being reunited with me dad after all these years. The only thing that worried me was the vampires. I knew my dad had history with Victor but he refused to tell me until the time was right, and to be honest I could deal with that, I wasn’t in a rush to know what had happened.
