I had more fun with this than I thought I would! I got an idea from AvaMarieSchneider, which made writing this a lot more simple.

Grayson's point of view-
I held Armen's unconscious body in my arms, looking up at the large square of obsidian that was once a portal to the most treacherous place known to mankind, The Nether or as most people know it as, H**l. My eyes were wide and heart raced as the purple within the obsidian base shattered like glass and the connection between our worlds was broken. Drake was still in there. He was trapped now.
He told me to escape while he fought the monsters that were attacking us. I made it out okay, but Drake wasn't so lucky. There was something powerful in there that I didn't get the opportunity to see face to face. It was more powerful than that hydra and wickedly familiar in a sense. I just remembered turning around and seeing two white orbs before Drake pushed me through the portal.
Why would he do that? Why didn't he come through too? Was it already too late by the time he pushed Armen and I through? I knew that he wanted to protect us, but I never thought that his protective nature would go this far. He's gone, my best friend. How am I supposed to get him back?!
"Drake!" I called out hoping to get a reply or something, but no such thing came back to me.
"No... No. No. No. No. No!" I screamed, not being able to bare the thought that he was stuck in that nightmare.
I looked down at Armen as he stirred but didn't open his eyes. A tear drop escaped my eye and landed on his pale white cheek, which I wiped away with my finger. His skin was surprisingly soft and clean considering that he was in a place filled with ash. He was so skinny, almost to the point where you could see his bones beneath his skin. His ash black hair was greasy and a tangled up mess.
My eyes looked back at the portal before I started coughing, feeling the air beginning to grow heavy. For a moment I forgot that we were in the dead lands. As much as I hated leaving Drake in there, I just felt that I had to leave and take care of Armen. Wouldn't Drake want that?
I looked around for my dog only for him to be no where to be seen, but I didn't want to take the risk with staying in this dreadful place to look for him. After looking at the portal one last time, I turned around and sprinted away.
"I'll find a way to get you out of there buddy." I spoke to myself as if Drake was right beside me. "I promise."
...
Once I reached my own home, which wasn't too exceedingly far from the portal, I went inside and placed Armen on top of my bed. He whimpered in his sleep like he was having a nightmare, but yet he looked so at peace at the same time.
I let out a sigh, going and grabbing a chair then placed it next to the bed so I could watch over him. My eyes scanned his body, watching his chest rise and fall at a steady rhythm. I could hardly wait for him to open his eyes; to finally look at those bright cyan orbs and know that he was finally okay, that he was finally free. To know that everything Drake and I have been through and done was not in vain.
I jumped when he shifted, turning onto his side and his arm moving up to his face. My cheeks started burning slightly as he stated making little puckering noises, his thumb in his mouth and sucking on it like an infant. I tried holding back a laugh in my throat, my cheeks puffing up as I tried to hold it in. Man, that's cute!
I took in a few breaths once I stopped laughing, and his little sucking noises stopped. My back straightened in the chair as he stirred and groaned, his eyes slowly fluttering open. His left eye was no longer white and both of his eyes were the bright soothing cyan that Drake and I missed seeing. I forgot how pretty they were...
