We got there and he knocked on the door.

I guess his parents are home.

Aaliyah opened.
-" Oh you're back" she exclaimed
-" Yeah, this is Cara" he introduced me.

She hugged me tightly, tbh she was huge, I looked like a five year old kid compared to her, even though she was younger.
-" Shawn talked about you so much"
I looked at him like 'wtf'.

She laughed at my expression.
-" Let's get inside"
-" Yeah of course"
-" Where are mum and dad?" Shawn was curious.
-" They went to buy groceries for Christmas dinner, I was about to go with them, then I remembered you haven't brought the keys" her annoyance was noticable.
-" Ooh sorry"
-" Do they even know you're gonna bring a friend?" she said that 'friend' kinda fake, she was hinting something, probably just screwing Shawn.

I decided not to react because we are just friends.
-" Yeah I told them, even though I don't know if they were listening"

-" You want me to show you your room?" She asked me politly.
-" Okay"
-" C'mere"

She opened the door at the end of hallway, there was a simple room, with a king sized bed, I was stunned.

-" Hope you like it"
-" I love it"
-" So how long are you staying?"
-" I don't know, I gotta find a flight"
-" Oh, well I hope you're staying at least few days"
-" Aww, well same" I said and giggled.

When their parents came home, I greeted them, they seem really nice. Karen was glad that I came, but I guess she couldn't cover the curiosity.

-" And where is your family?"
-" Oh I don't live with them"
-" Oh.. are.. are they alive or?"
-" I guess, I didn't talk to them in a while but last time I did, they were okay"

I tried to crack a joke, because I was uncomfortable talking on this topic.
I saw Shawn looking me with sadness in his eyes, he was pity for me.

I showed him a weak smile just to assure him I'm okay. It cheered him up a bit.
-" Are you gonna spend the New Year with us too or you're going back to Dublin?" His father asked me.

-" Ummm, I don't know, I will try to find a flight for this year" they laughed
-" You can stay here how much you want"
Shawn said.
-" I know, thanks"
-" You wanna go to the mall?" Aaliyah asked
-" If you already planned to go, I'm up for it"
-" Yeah, I gotta buy something"
-" Okay let's go"
-" Shiba can stay" Karen said, I think she likes her. I just nodded.
-" Shawn you going with us or...?"
-" Nah, you go do your girly stuff"
-" You are the girliest here" she told him, and she was lowkey right. Especially if you look our outfits. I was wearing ripped jeans and a baggy T-shirt, she was in sweater and leggins. We were both pretty tomboyish dressed. He just laughed.
