Amillyse shot up from her sleep, she'd had a nightmare. Even though her body was ice cold she felt hot. Her face damp with sweat. It had been years since she'd had a nightmare like that. About him. About Oropher. The man who helped to keep her alive for so many years. A man who was now just spirit amongst this world.

A weight shifted beside her where the King had been sleeping. Oh no. She tried to calm her breathing and keep quiet, trying not to make a sound for fear of waking him.

She waited a moment, and then another just to be sure she hadn't woken him before she slipped out of the blankets and made her way to the exit of the tent.

Once she had gotten out she snuck past the night guard of the camp and slipped into the forest, her feet rustling through the fallen leaves. She made her way to a nearby clearing, it was still quite dark in the forest despite the sun rising. It must have been about 5:30.

As she danced through the forest, she could see beams of sunlight peaking through the trees, they seemed to sparkle. She danced through the rays and came to the clearing.

The sky was on fire, beautiful shades of orange and pink mixing together and stirring through the cotton like clouds. Ami felt so much more at ease now. So much calmer, she needed to escape from her nightmare, and this was the best way she knew how.

Laying down in the field, she watched as the colours of the sky swirled and twisted. She could hear the birds singing as they all awoke for the day, and the elk were sauntering into the clearing to have something to eat.

"Fae, if you insist of running away from the camp so often I will have to tie you with the horses..." The tired voice of the Elven King was soft as it echoed through the clearing. Ami sat up quickly and turned to the sound.
"I'm sorry, I just-" he interrupted her, something he did to people often. "You had a bad dream. I know... You kept me awake." He said with a soft whine.

Looking up at the King, she saw he had not yet dressed, he was in only his trousers. His long hair covered his chest slightly, Ami's eyes couldn't help but linger over his chest, it was strong and hard looking. His arms were also very toned. She pulled her gaze away and blushed "I'm sorry my lord. It won't happen again" she looked back over at the elk grazing in the field.
"Can I sit with you?" The tired voice mumbled, Ami nodded without speaking, and he sat down beside her, legs stretched out, watching the animals before them.
"They're quite beautiful creatures" Thranduil continued, rubbing one eye and yawning. Amillyse couldn't help but feel bad for having kept him up all night. "I really am sorry, my lord... I know I'm usually quite stubborn but I am sorry" she mumbled, he smiled a small grin and laid back. "It's fine, my exhaustion must be nothing compared to that dream... You were crying almost all night" he closed his eyes and rested.

Amillyse's eyes once again glued themselves to his body, this time his lower abdomen, blushing a dark red, she resisted the urge to touch.
Realising she had not said anything yet, she quickly answered.
"Oh... I. I'd rather not talk about the dream... It'll only upset me again" she wasn't lying, even thinking about it was starting to make her panic again.
"I won't press you, but if you insist on distracting yourself with my body you need not hide it." He kept his eyes closed and smirked, knowing very well he had caused her to blush again.

Amillyse tore her eyes from his chest and turned back to the elk. Her cheeks dark red, hiding her face in her hair. The King sat up beside her and glanced over her hair "Were you born with hair this dark?" He asked, running his fingers through the ebony strands, admiring the slight waves in each lock. "Mhm" she hummed, keeping her face hidden, she couldn't help but love the feeling of his fingers through her hair, then suddenly a memory of her past plagued her mind.
