My parents were fighting. Again. I hated it when this happened. Without thinking I packed a drawstring bag, with money, a charger, and a change of clothes. I knew exactly where I was going. This happens a lot, so I don't even have to text him. I shimmy out of my window, and down my tree sneakily. I scurry across the street, quickly, and swing myself from branch to branch, until I get to Josh's window.

I knock slightly and look in. My boyfriend looks over and stands. He frowns and opens the window, allowing me to climb in. "What's wrong beautiful kid?" He asks as I flop on his bed.

"It's happening again. It's worse than usual." I say as my eyes begin to fill with tears. He looks at me with worried eyes. I begin to cry. "They're gonna get a divorce, and my mom will fall into depression, a-and my dad will cut me off, a-and I'll h-have to f-fend for my o-own." I muster out. Josh walks over to me and sits down.

He pulls me into his lap and hugs me tightly. I lean into his chest and wrap my frail arms around his waist. I sob as quiet as possible, into his chest. "Shhhhh." He coos softly. He runs his hands through my hair. I calmed down and got up. I got changed and laid down on his bed. He chuckled. "Yes, you can stay the night." With that he cuddled up to me and we both fell asleep.
