A/N- This book has hit 100,000 VIEWS. HOLY. FREAKING. SHIT.
It's probably been about a year now since I first started writing and posting this book (which is also the first full length story I'd ever written), and it's been insane. I've constantly been so impressed with your guys' kindness and support for this story, and even following me along to my other ones.
I will never be able to thank you guys enough or tell you that I love you enough. Y'all have helped me drastically improve my state of mind and I've made many wonderful friends on here through this simple, sometimes cringe-worthy, book.
So as a thank you, here is a small thing for you guys, but it's not nearly what you deserve.
Thank you.
I took a deep breath and looked myself over in the mirror one more time. I tried hopelessly to fix my messy blue mohawk, but it was no use. Oh well, Tyler always told me he thought it was cute when my hair was messy anyways.
I adjusted my suit jacket and bow-tie for the thousandth time before settling and making my way over to the wide double door and waited on Tyler. Since this wasn't a traditional wedding, we weren't doing things the traditional way. Tyler and I were both going to walk down the aisle, arm-in-arm.
I was broken by my thoughts by Brendon coming over to pin a white rose surrounded by baby's breath to the lapel of my suit. He and the guys joked that I was the bride since I had "something blue" aka my hair.
"You ready, Mama Dun?" Brendon asked with a smile as he straightened the flower. He was in charge of helping me, while Patrick was in charge of helping Tyler.
Brendon, Dallon, and Patrick did the most to help us plan this thing, all the others just did whatever Brendon and Dallon told them to, but I'm just so thankful they were willing to help. I wanted this day to be perfect for Tyler.
I took yet another deep breath and nodded my head with a smile. "I'm just hoping I don't accidentally mess something up, like usual." I muttered with a blush.
My track record is not the best when it comes to weddings. At my aunts wedding I tripped and fell on the flower girl at the reception, and at Brendon and Dallon's wedding I tried to signal for a toast but ended up breaking the wine glass on top of their wedding cake. The entire top layer of the cake had to be scrapped off in order for it to be edible.
"Just think about it this way," Brendon began, "at the end of the day it doesn't matter what happens here, you'll still be married to Tyler and your lives will go on together. Any mishaps will just make for a great story that you can laugh at later on so you don't have one of those boring, cliché 'and they lived happily ever after' stories. Yours will have some realism and life to it."
Brendon always knew how to make me feel better. I told him thank you, and he left to go take his place at the piano. All of the guys were here today, and they were all our best men.
I anxiously rocked back and forth on my feet as I waited for Tyler to join me. After what felt like forever, but was probably only a couple minutes, Patrick walked through and told me Tyler was right behind him as he slipped through the doors to join the others.
I turned around just in time to see Tyler poking his head around the corner. His hair was perfectly styled and a light blush dusted his cheek bones when his eyes met mine. He walked over to me and grabbed my hands.
"Wow...you should wear a tux more often," he laughed. I joined in and squeezed his hand in mine.
"I could say the same for you," I answered. I let go of one of his hands and brought it up to the side of his face, gently rubbing his cheek with the pad of my thumb.
"You ready? I'm just letting you know, I'm probably going to mess something up at some point," Tyler smiled and leaned into my hand.
"I wouldn't expect any less, except you won't be messing things up, you'll just be adding to the memories."
"Memories I will immediately start to repress." I answered.
Tyler shook his head at me with a grin on his face, and then we heard the music in the sanctuary start to play. We stood to the side as our flower girl, Tyler's little cousin Melanie, and our ring bearer, my little ginger cousin Alan, came around the corner lead by my mom.
I heard her give them last minute instructions before sending Melanie out the doors, waiting a few moments, and then sending Alan.
She turned to face us; tears welled up in her eyes. "Look at you two handsome boys; I'm so proud of both of you. I couldn't ask for a better son and son-in law."
She pulled us both into a hug before rushing off to a side door so she could take her seat before we walked out. We heard the song change, and it was our queue to start walking.
I laced my fingers with Tyler's, took a deep breath, and we walked through the doors.
I looked around and saw the faces of our friends and family smiling back at us. Both of our moms were crying of course. I looked down towards the altar and saw Jack giving us and enthusiastic thumbs up and a cheesy grin.
Unfortunately, I was paying too much attention to others and not to where I was walking, so I didn't see where the carpet had gotten bunched up. The end of my shoe caught it and I tripped, falling down face first in the middle of the aisle, the sound of Tyler's laughter and gasps from everyone else reaching my ears.
Brendon, who had been playing the piano, had to stop playing because he was laughing too hard. My face turned bright red and I muttered under my breath as I started to pick myself up.
I heard a snicker of laughter before my feet were swept out from underneath me. I squeaked and grabbed onto the nearest thing, which happened to be Tyler's shoulder. He was holding me bridal style and started walking down the aisle once again.
"Oh my God, put me down!" I said, my face growing impossibly redder. He just giggled and shook his head no.
I heard the music start again and Brendon call out, "I told you that you were the bride!" but I chose to ignore him.
When we reached the altar, Tyler finally put me down and fixed the flower on my suit that had gotten squished. I looked sheepishly back at him, and he simply gave me a wink.
As the pastor started to speak, everything else zoned out except for Tyler. I don't remember saying the vows are putting his ring on his hand. That whole section was a blur up until I heard the words, "You may now kiss your husband."
I Instantly grabbed Tyler face in-between my hands and pulled him close to me. As our lips met I heard the cheers of everybody else, and felt the familiar warmth flooding through my veins. I pulled back and looked into Tyler's warm chocolate brown eyes.
This man was now mine forever, and that's all I could ever ask for and more.
