Chapter 17: Lovebirds
Via's POV
"What now, Lance? You have Laura. Piss off, for all I care." I glared at him, turning my heels and running away.
"Wait, let me explain." He tried to stop me, but I just kept on running.
He always tries to explain, he keeps on bringing up the subject of what he regards as the 'true story', but I couldn't care less.
"I don't wanna hear it." I yelped once more.
Then with his oh-so-quick quarterback skills, he stopped me by holding at my waist and picking me up, so my whole world tipped over.
He was carrying me.
"Piss off. Let me go!" I hit him with all force, but he wouldn't budge.
"I said let me go!" I shrieked.
"Do you want me to kiss you out or I'll drop you?" I could feel his smirk creep in, even if I couldn't see his face.
"Don't you dare do either one of those." I screamed at the top of my lungs or diaphragm or larynx or whatever organ it was. It was still of no use. He still had me immobile, and I was starting to get dizzy.
Plus there was no one else with us so he could really do both of those if he wanted to.
BUT!
He wouldn't dare would he?
"You don't want me to do one, okay then I'll do both princess."
Then *BANG*, he dropped me. I felt my head slowly thud because of the impact.
I disregarded the thought of him dropping me because the scarier thought was of which awaits me.
"Now that I've dropped you, might as well kiss you." Sh*t. Not my first kiss.
And then all of the sudden, my lips came in contact...
With a freaking carpet!
"Oh my gosh, Via, are you okay?" Like every usual morning, I adjusted my vision to the unclear surroundings.
"Can't see a thing." I muttered, like I usually would.
"Here." Then someone put the glasses over so I could decipher the stuff around me much better.
"Clear?" I looked up and saw Mackenzie.
"Crystal." I answered coolly.
Okay, so apparently I was having another nightmare because of the insomnia attacks. Stupid Lance! Stupid Laura! Then the loud thud in my dream coincided with reality as I fell off the bed, and ended up kissing alright, but not Lance.
I ended up kissing the carpet.
As much as I've gotten over the 'falling in love with the quarterback stage in my life, I always dream about him.
Let me correct that into nightmares.
I got back up, first on my knees then Mackenzie assisted my 'comeback'.
"You okay?" She checked me, cupped my face to find any trace of bruises, wounds and whatnot. I slapped her hands away.
"I'm fine, Mackenzie. Don't worry about it." I guaranteed her.
